instructions:
supplies: cardstock, ANW/Crestwood; patterned paper, Scenic Route (Grafton); chipboard coaster album, Maya Road; chipboard accessories, ribbon, buttons, and rub-ons, Maya Road; ink, Ranger, Clearsnap; paint and Stickles, Ranger; embroidery floss, DMC; pen, American Crafts, Signo; rhinestones, Darice; adhesive, UHU, Fiskars
Lisa’s tips on how to create this gorgeous album:
- To get exact paper coverage on each page, I like to cover the chipboard pages with adhesive, attach the patterned paper and then cut it out using a craft knife. To make your papers flush with the chipboard, use a sanding block or emery board all along the edges
- Use Stickles to highlight designs on your patterned paper or on top of painted chipboard letters. This is a quick and easy way to create added interest to each page
- A simple way to add visual interest to your mini album pages is to doodle with a white or black pen around the edge of photos, pages, or chipboard, using straight lines or scallops
- Don’t be afraid to add rub-ons to photos. I added the name “Noah,” and also some stars and flourishes to several photos to fill in blank spaces
- To give your album a finished look, ink the edges of each page using Fluid Chalk Inks or Distress Inks. This is a great way to pull the entire album together

In the seeing stars article (pages 55-58) we shared 6 of our favourite star-inspired projects. Stopping at 6 was no easy task — here are 2 more bonus projects that also feature stars.
- First, cover one side of each of the 6 chipboard panels with patterned paper—use your favourite adhesive. Next, gently sand the edges.
- Using a punch, re-cut the holes in all four corners of the panels—except on the last one where you punch only the top two holes, thus leaving the bottom two covered.
- Paint each of the stars and let them dry.
- Adhere the lined paper to each of the panels, alternating left and right sides. Then, embellish the side of each piece with a strip of striped paper.
- Mat five wallet size photos with black cardstock and attach to the side of each panel opposite the lined paper.
- Staple the top of the measuring tape to black ribbon; adhere rest of tape to ribbon using a strong adhesive. Note: I left the pieces of ribbon and the measuring tape a little longer than needed and trimmed the end after I had attached it to the project.
- Attach all of the rings to the chipboard pieces and lay the project flat; adhere the measuring tape to the panels, starting with the top and working down; trim excess.
- Use a white pen to embellish the star chipboard and then attach stars and buttons to project.
- Adhere the “grow” chipboard letters to the large star on panel one.
- Add a black ribbon to hang your project.
