Hello, it’s SCT, we’ve been wondering if after all this time….Hello…
Ok, so we’re not so great at an Adele song but you know what this team is great at? Creating pretty amazing cards! This hour several of our team wanted to share some of their favourite “hello” cards. Who doesn’t love getting a handmade hello in the mailbox? As a little extra, our Art Director and new to the scene cardmaker Cathy Zielske has a fun video too. Let’s get this hour’s party started…
Supplies: Cardstock (American Crafts), Patterned Paper (Studio Calico), Stickers (One Canoe Two by American Crafts), Thicker phrase (Havana by American Crafts, Other (sewing machine and thread)
“For this fun fall “hello” card, I used a kraft cardstock base layered with some fall patterned paper. I stitched around the edges to add a bit of texture. Next, I used a sticker pack to add embellishments, and a foam word thicker to add my sentiment. Tip: American Crafts word Thickers are a great way to add a sentiment to your card! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! ~ Jen Chapin

In a world full of lemons, who’s your lemonade? Tell them as much with a refreshing shaker card.
CARDSTOCK: Die Cuts with a View; PATTERNED PAPER: Make a Pretty Life; DIES, TOPPINGS, FOAM SHAPES: Queen & Co; Adhesives: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
I used two fruit dies (wedge and slice) from Queen & Co. to create the focal points on this hello—the lemons! It was easy peasy lemon squeezey using the dies and coordinating Specialty Shaker Kit, which comes with pre-cut pieces of foam. I just adore the bitty lemon slices in this Toppings assortment and knew they’d be just the ticket when it came to filling my fruit.
I reserved the inside panel of the card for the sentiment, which I painted to complement the overall look of the card. TIP: Blend some pink paint into the yellow while the paint is all still wet. This will create a neat, blended look.
This World Card Making Day, spend some of your special card time creating designs you can have on hand to grab in a pinch. You never know when you might need a word of encouragement, and shaker cards make quite the impact. Cheers!” ~ Megan Hoeppner

Hello, everyone! Thanks so much for joining us today for our WCMD celebration! I love creating cards, especially using the leftover bits and pieces that remain on my desk after designing a layout. I like to call it “creative clean up.” I also find that card making is a wonderful solution to help me get out of a creative rut. In fact, cards are the ideal canvas for experimenting with new techniques on a smaller scale.
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper, Chipboard Accent, Enamel Dots: Simple Stories; Stickers: Simple Stories, Jillibean Soup; Tag: Crate Paper; Die Cutting File: Scrapbook & Cards Today; Manual Die: Papertrey Inc; Glitter: Ranger Industries; Other: Thread, Fine Tipped Black Pen
My best tip for card making is to simply have fun and enjoy the process! You can spend anywhere from 20 minutes on a design, or up to several hours. AND, both can be equally as fabulous!!! ~ Sheri Reguly

“Hey everyone! Cathy Zielske here and I’m so excited to be with you today for World Card Making Day, especially considering that this time last year, I really had no idea what the card making world was all about and now you could say I am all in!
While I still consider myself a pretty new cardmaker, I love trying many of the cool techniques I see on YouTube and today I’m sharing a card with some simple ink blending and an emboss resist technique.
For a complete list of the supplies I used, visit my blog.
Using a 6 x 6 Hero Arts Repeating Flower Bold Prints background stamp, I used Versamark Ink and white embossing powder to create a white on white image. Then I ink blended over the top using Distress Oxides and that lovely white patterned resisted the ink. I have a video walking you through the whole process! Enjoy!”

Pretty cards, especially loving the fall one! Thanks for the sweet autumn inspiration.
Super cute hello cards! I love all the fun colors used in these designs. Why is that when we say “hello” we always want to add an exclamation mark?? Maybe because it’s usually for someone super special!! If I could say hello to anyone, it would be my dear friend, Celine, in France. We don’t talk very often and don’t write nearly as much as we should. So you’ve inspired me. . . hello card here we come.
My hello goes to my niece and nephew – and it would be accompanied by a zillion virtual hugs until I can see them in person. The DT inspiration cards: sensational! Thank you for the inspiration!
~carol
