"Hey Scrapbook & Cards Today friends! I am so excited to be part of another birthday celebration with SCT! 11 year is quite an accomplishment, and what a great reason to celebrate, right? Truth is, it was also my daughter's birthday recently, so I made a few invitations to her rainbow themed party that I thought I would share for our birthday celebration today!
Since I was working with a rainbow of colours, I started with a simple white cardstock base for the invitations. I sent each cardstock piece through our printer with all the invitation details on them, so that they would print on the inside of each invitation. I was able to do two invites at one time from an 8.5×11 piece of paper! Once they were all printed out, the fun begins! I scored each card and did a little digital diecutting.
I diecut a rainbow of patterned papers using my digital cutting machine and a rainbow/cloud design from the Silhouette store. I simply stacked each colour togehter and adhered to the front of the invitation. I popped up the diecut cloud and added some adhesive sequins and a sewn button to each cloud.
I added super simple stamped sentiment title with a tiny scrap of patterned paper behind it, so it was a little more predominant and voila- quick invites!
They came together quite quickly, so I was inspired to make some co-ordinating goodie bags for the girls to take him after the party.
Just some simple white craft bags decorated simply with some of those same diecut clouds that were used on the invitation, along with some strips of paper cut 1/4" each and staggered under each cloud. Kind of looks like rain? Maybe?
All in all, a super easy and simple way to craft some special items for a birthday bash!

I think I was given a copy of Scrapbook and Cards Today when I visited a friend’s scrapbook store many, many years ago. The shop closed at least 7 years ago so it has to be longer than that. My memory is not great with time.

Unfortunately, it was at the time when the last of the American magazines was shutting down. I was so excited when I found SCT! Another day of wonderful prizes !!! I was introduced to SCT while attending Scrapfest in Oshawa in 2008 I believe. Bought several backdated issues while I was there to catch up.
