Welcome back for the final day of the second week of our 12 Days of Holiday Giving! For day ten, we’re welcoming Mirisha Dean to the blog to share a gorgeous tag tutorial with us in a new YouTube video, and we’re giving away two more prizes from our partners to one lucky winner! Let’s end this week with another day of festive inspiration!

Hello, crafty friends! It’s Mirisha here, and I’m excited to share a festive project that celebrates one of my favorite things about paper crafting during the holidays—creating small pieces that make a big impact. I wanted to create a project that could be used not only as a tag, but as a keepsake—something meaningful enough to treasure long after the gift is opened. This “Christmas Blessings” tag features layered greenery, a bold poinsettia, and a peaceful dove, all arranged to create a warm and elegant design perfect for gifting, decorating, or displaying throughout the season.

Supplies | Honey Bee Stamps: Tag You’re It Builder, Vintage Flora Stamp, Terrific Tag Die, Lovely Layers Mini Holiday Floral Die, Lovely Layers Doves; Ranger Ink: Distress Oxide Vintage Photo, Distress Oxide Rustic Wilderness, Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid, Distress Spritz Fossilized Amber, Distress Spray Stain Gathered Twigs; Scrapbook.com: Adhesive, Adhesive Foam Dots, Blending Brush, Grip Mat; Spellbinders: Blending Brush, Cardstock in Classic White, Poppy, Rainforest, Fawn
For this project, I wanted to create a dimensional holiday tag that feels both classic and heartfelt. I combined greenery, a bold poinsettia, and a graceful dove to symbolize peace and Christmas blessings. Tags are a simple canvas, but with the right layering and details, they become beautiful keepsakes.

Try building a multi-layered background using a mix of Distress mediums. I began with stamping in Vintage Photo Distress Oxide, followed by a quick spray of Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz to brighten the surface. A touch of Gathered Twigs Distress Spray Stain adds darker texture and visual interest, giving your tag a warm, vintage-inspired foundation.

If you want to add a quick impact to a simple tag, try letting a few of your pieces hang off the edges. It might feel like a small detail, but it makes a huge difference! Extending the greenery or wings beyond the tag base helps everything look fuller, more interesting, and more dimensional. This is a great tip for new crafters because it’s easy to do and instantly gives your tag a polished, professional look.

To create a strong three-dimensional effect on this tag, I added foam tape behind the dove, poinsettia, and sentiment. Raising these focal elements off the base instantly adds depth and separation, helping each piece stand out beautifully. Foam tape is one of the easiest ways to add dimension to your projects, and even a small amount can give your tag a sculpted, layered look.
