With all of the photos taken and memories made during the holiday season, we need a quick and easy way to get all of that merriment into our albums, and pocket pages provide just the outlet for our creativity! Today for day four of our 12 Days of Holiday Giving event, Meghann Andrew is sharing how she recorded a fun Christmas memory in pockets, in a beautiful and colourful way! Let’s see what she created:

…………………………..

Hello, friends, and happy holidays! There are so many wonderful moments to document during our holiday season—from traditions to parties, and pocket pages are ideal for getting all of those photos, journaling, and pretty product, of course, in your album. Take a look at a Christmas Market memory that I documented using the new Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Magic collection

This double-page spread using a Project Life G page protector held my favourite photos from a chilly and festive night enjoying a Christmas Market in the U.K. The bright and happy colours in the Holiday Magic collection could not have been more perfect for this happy memory.

My title tag is always one of my favourite parts of the pocket page, and I created this one with the Holiday Magic title ephemera and chipboard alpha. Layering a label, stickers and an enamel dot below added a bit of whimsy to this pocket, situated in the center of my spread.

Document all of the holiday vibes of your event by taking photos not only of the people you are sharing it with, but the setting, too! Remember to get close-ups and shots from different angles. These images made my spread so much more interesting, and I can practically smell the strudel in this photo!

Don’t forget that some pockets can be left without a photo, using only pretty product to fill them. These are called “fillers,” and placing them strategically and leaving plenty of white space in the pocket gives the viewer’s eye a place to rest. This cute “let’s get merry” tag found in the die cut tags pack was perfectly placed on a tone-on-tone patterned paper, adorned with greenery from the ephemera pack and colourful and metallic enamel dots

The negative space in a photo corner is the perfect place to add a pop of colour or sparkle. I loved using these mini banners from the cardstock stickers, plus a puffy star sticker and metallic enamel dot here. It doesn’t take much to add some interest to a dark corner of a photo!

For all of my scrapbookers out there: don’t forget that you can layer inside of your pockets, too! A piece of patterned paper, die cut ticket from the ephemera pack, a chipboard sticker and colourful and metallic enamel dots made this little tag complete with dimension—while still allowing it to slide in its pocket!

If you’ve never tried documenting in pockets before, give it a try this holiday season, and give all of those merry moments a place in your album! Happy creating, friends!
