Hello friends! It’s Wendy Sue here with you today, and I’m excited to wish SCT a very happy 14th birthday! What’s a birthday without a few decorations (and cake…but I can’t bake, so I’ll decorate instead!) I whipped up a really quick and easy banner and garland set that you can create to celebrate along with us!
I pulled a few fun colors from the new “Dots” papers by Echo Park Paper and cut five simple banner shapes—I made them extra long so I could fold the top over and cut some strips to create fringe!
I used my digital die-cut machine to cut letters to spell “Party” and added them to my fun rainbow dot banner. As you can see, after the letters were attached and the top flap fringed, I folded it over and used some strong glue to secure the flap after placing each banner on some strong string.
Here’s a close-up of one of the flags. I love how this paper has monochromatic dots on one side and white dots on the other.
If you use this technique, make sure the design on the back will work with the fold-over flap without being upside down!
To create the quick garland, I punched 1 ¼” circles from the same papers and used my sewing machine to stitch them all together. It is the fastest way to create any type of garland, and so cute!
You don’t have to spend hours creating decorations for a party—whip up something fun like this quick and easy set for your next celebration and make the guest of honor feel extra special!

My favorite birthday celebration was my 30th birthday. I had all of my family and friends and it was a special time!
My 50th. My husband made me a special supper at a RV campground. He had presents,, flowers, a card. Then we swam and sat outside. Or was so relaxing and very special. He always treats me special! I am blessed to say the least.
My favorite birthday had to be last November when I threw a surprise birthday party for my aunt, who lives with me, for her 90th birthday. It was just supposed to be an open house, but we ended up having so many people come I had to move it to a church hall! She was so totally shocked! I saw cousins I hadn’t seen in 40+ years. It was awesome
My favorite birthday was my grandsons Birthday, there Birthday’s are in the same month (May) so they had there b-days together and it was a blast!
The summer collection looks absolutely amazing. Colors r so bright. Will make an awesome layout.
My favorite bday was when I was a little girl. I got a white hat and gloves to wear to church. I remember my dad hugging me. He died shortly after.
Happy birthday Scrapbook and Cards…… We need some happiness around here this month. Thank you for getting our spirits up,!
My 25th birthday was very special, my family did a surprise birthday party for me.
My 40th birthday was my favorite! My family treated me like a queen.
My family gave me a surprise party on my 40th birthday. So much fun!
My favorite was watching my daughter (age 5 at the time) getting so excited about her party decorations and gifts. I taped it and love rewatching it. :)
I do not have fancy celebrations, but we have cake, wrapped packages, and lots of cards. Always enjoyable!
My favorite celebration was my 60th birthday. We had to sell our house and move from our community and were in temporary apartment housing. I was really down, so my husband arranged for us to go back to a friend’s in our old neighborhood. When I walked in, about 20 of my old friends were inside waiting to surprise me!
The biggest surprise was that my husband orchestrated all of this to cheer me up. And it did!
I loved my 25th birthday. I didn’t realize I was turning 25. Everytime I was asked my age I would say 23. I entirely skipped being 24. So it was a surprise birthday.
One of my favourite memories is my husband organizing a surprise 40th birthday while I visited my friend next door and giving me tickets to see “The Rankin Family”.
Of course he had help decorating from my sister. I was impressed that he put so much thought into it and actually pulled it off.
My favorite birthday celebration was my 30th birthday celebrated in Lake Placid, NY watching the Goodwill Games.
My most favorite birthday celebration was a couple of years ago when my daughter put together a surprise party for me inviting a lot of friends and family to join us!! What a special day it was from my most special daughter!! I love her with all of my heart!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win both of these amazing products.
I loved birthday celebrations when my girls were little!!!
I did not have a fancy party or presents for my 50th birthday. Instead, I travelled solo to Paris for the first time and am still reminiscing about my trip.
My favorite birthday celebration was when my Dad turned 50. It was so awesome to see people gather for him! It was even better that it was a total surprise.
Love this fringed banner!

I loved birthday celebrations when my girls were little!!! This is a cute idea
Favorite birthday celebration had to be my 12th birthday. My dad had a lady at work make me a doll cake with purple and white icing. I had wanted one of those forever. That was way toooooo many years ago.
My face Birthday was when my sister
and her daughters were visiting. I
had to go to work before they left
and when I got home, they had
left me a Party on the Table! Had
gifts and confetti, so fun.

My favourite birthday celebration: is just our everyday traditions. We have a “happy birthday” banner that I made about 12 years ago to hang, and my DH blows up balloons and tapes them to all the walls. We always have a homemade black forest cake, or ice cream cake depending on who is celebrating. And we’re just together and happy. This giveaway is amazing…so amazing!!!
My favorite birthday celebration was my daughter’s 21st. Held a big surprise party for her. It was magnificent. Love the banner with fringe. I think banners are great for so many occasions. Lots of impact.
My favorite birthday celebration was my 50th – my family gave me surprise gifts and treats leading up to my birthday :)
My favorite Birthday celebration was when I turned 28. We had a lot of fun with some old friends at a club (this was before we all got married and had kids – LOL). Now we are married with children and now we getting together has been too few and long in between. We are all in different stages in life. Now I love celebrating each and every birthday with my two miracles!
My favorite birthday celebration was when I was in 6th grade. I had a slumber party and all my friends came. My birthday is in February so I never got to have pool parties! We stayed up all night and played games and laughed.
Super cute and festive party decor! My favorite birthday celebration was for my Mother-in-Law’s 80th birthday. Lots of friends and family we haven’t seen for years.
We don’t typically have birthday celebrations (I don’t have birthdays anymore…I have anniversaries ;-D) With that said, I would have to say my most memorable was my 30th. Sneaky hubby threw a surprise get together with the help of my mischievous mother. Surprising in the fact that my mom is the WORST secret keeper but she didn’t spill a peep.
Happy Birthday SCT. What fabulous sponsors you have and so generous ♥
My favourite birthday was my 40th. My husband managed to pull off a surprise party and people I had not seen for ages showed. It was so much fun and the food was incredible too. Happy birthday SCT and thanks for a chance to win this creative prize pack.
My favourite birthday celebration was my 40th surprise party thrown for me by my amazing husband and kids. Being a farm family and my birthday during seeding time I don’t get a lot of years where things line up but that year they did. But honestly every year with the family is just fine by me.
My favorite birthday celebration hasn’t happened yet! But in two weeks, hopefully, I will be celebrating the birthday of my first grandchild!
Oh my goodness! BEST, MAGAZINE! COVER! E V E R !!!
Loving today’s giveaway prizes also! Such a sweet banner! TFS!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCT!! My favorite birthday memory is when my family took me to an amusement park and I had the best time. My mom went on some spinning ride and got sick. I’ll never forget that!!!
When we took our daughter and 4 of her friends to Edmonton for the weekend for her 16th birthday. We all had so much fun.
50 was the most fun birthday for me, I came into work and found an office full of balloons and signs!
It was a fun day to go “over the hill!”
Thank you for the chance at winning some amazing goodies!
Hmmmm….because my birthday comes right after Christmas, I never had a real birthday party in my youth. When I turned 50, I decided to throw myself an old fashioned cocktail party!!! BEST decision ever!!!! Ladies in gown, men in suits, rented a historic venue, cocktails, finger foods, dancing, conversations, even a limo ride. Happy birthday to SCT and thanks for the chance to win this fabulous prize pack.
I don’t really have a favorite Birthday celebration. Anytime I’m with my family and there is cake, is a good time.;)
I would probably have to say my favorite birthday celebration would be the one we planned for my husband’s 60th birthday. He is an avid fisherman and hunter, so we surprised him with a camo party. Everybody dressed in camo including the grandchildren. Happy Birthday SCT!
My favorite birthday celebration was last year at Nags Head, NC!
Thanks for the fabulous and very useful cut file. Loving all the sponsors and their generous prizes! Thank you. We didn’t celebrate birthdays much as kids but my 50th was memorable. The children surprised me with a wonderful meal and dear hubby got me a beautiful new wedding band as my one didn’t fit anymore.
Enjoying Chinese take out surrounded by my family—now that my children are adults and finding their own way in the world, the times we share are always special! My birthday is in December, always a busy time for everyone so I appreciated being surprised by my kids impromptu dinner!
My birthday is September 11 so people often tell me they are sorry I have to have my day messed up with the memories of 9/11. When I turned 50 I decided to turn that frown upside down by doing 50 acts of kindness in my community. I saved for months so that I could buy gift cards for restaurants, paid for shoes for a person at the shoe store, gave school supplies to teachers, provided goodies to the bank, took coloring books/crayons/balloons to the hospital along with baby gifts for babies born that day, paid doctor copays, and took edible treats to the police, fire, ambulance, and Army recruiting locations in my town. I continue to do this every year and it has made my birthday so much more fulfilling for me! I have tried to remain anonymous but after seven years, people get to where they expect me and there are often tears involved. But the best part is that there are other people in my community that have begun to do this on their birthdays too! So, it’s not true that birthdays don’t matter after you get to be a certain age. I hope to continue this for many years to come. Thanks for the opportunity to win something too!!!
Love love love this. My son has same bday.
My favorite birthday party was when my son dressed up as Darth Vador and surprised his 5 year old son and his friends. They had light saber fights and he stayed dressed like that for two hours in the 90 degree heat. Best memory ever.
My favorite birthday celebration has to be my 50th when I had my mum visiting me all the way from South Africa, that was certainly special! Just spending it with her and my family will always be cherished!
My favorite birthday celebration is when my sailors sang happy birthday to me while on the ship
My favorite birthday was my 63rd. I am finally able to move on after loosing my husband three years ago and treated myself to a camping trip to Yellowstone NP.
My daughter’s birthday every year. We always have a theme party and I create the invitations (real paper ones!), banners, decoration and party favours. And we will continue celebrating her even pass her 100th! Thanks for the giveaways and happy birthday!
Loved celebrating my Maman’s 80th birthday in February 2019. We organized a surprise birthday party for her and it was absolutely magical to see family and friends come together to celebrate such an amazing woman.
My most favorite birthday celebration was for my sister when she turned 40! We all got together to celebrate in sunny St.George…It was the last birthday she celebrated…we didn’t know – we should enjoy EVERY celebration as if it may be the last! Great banner and giveaways. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love going bowling or to a video arcade with all the kids, it’s so fun!
Happy birthday, SCT!!! Thanks so much for today’s super generous sponsors for an awesome prize package! So far, my favourite birthday celebration was when I turned 40 – I got spoiled at work (I have the BEST colleagues) and by my family! I’ll be 50 next year, and my husband and I are celebrating by taking an epic adventure to Europe – it’s the trip of a lifetime!!!
My favorite birthday celebration was when we went to Pennsylvania to celebrate my husbands grandmothers 100th birthday. It was such an amazing trip and getting to spend time with her was so nice. We had recently gotten married and were able to sit down with her and go through our wedding album. I’ll never forget that trip,
My favorite birthday celebration is my last one, my 50th, when I had multiple celebrations with family – with my husband for a big night out, with my sisters, and with my family for a big lunch. And oh, then there was the following weekend when we did a cooking class together too. Needless to say, I was well-fed – and very happy.
Thanks for the chance to win! Happy Birthday, SCT!
My favourite birthday celebration was my husband’s 60th birthday this past October. Our son was posted to Esquimalt (Victoria, B.C.) after completing Basic Officer Training so our daughter, my husband and I had a long weekend visit with him in Victoria. It was so good to all be together. Thanks for the chance to win!
My favourite birthday celebrations are the ones of my 4 grand kids, I love seeing their smiling little faces. I really love this banner it’s so colourful and just HAPPY, and since my daughters 4 kids birthdays are so close she can re-use it for each party, and then she can set it up in their playroom.
My favorite birthday celebration was my son’s first birthday.. he’s only had 2, which have both been great. But, the first is always so memorable!
My favourite birthday was when I turned 60. I was not looking forward to it at all. My family and I were all renting various cottages at the same resort. My birthday happened to fall on a day that we were all there. I had never had a birthday party and they surprised me with one. It was so much fun playing minute to win it games. I couldn’t get over how thoughtful my family was. My family means everything to me. Happy 14th Birthday SCT ????????????
My favorite birthday celebration was when my husband took me on a surprise trip to Catalina Island for the day. He hired our babysitter, and we went–I didn’t know where we were going until we got to the ticket booth.
My mom used to set up birthday scavenger hunts when I was a kid. Thanks for the chance to win!
