Hello SCT friends!

It’s Nathalie with you today, and I am so excited to be sharing a set of birthday tags to “wrap up” Scrapbook & Cards Today’s 15th birthday celebration!

Supplies | Patterned paper, cardstock, cardstock stickers, ephemera: Salutations No. 1 from Echo Park Paper Co. ; Cardstock, acetate: American Crafts; Dies: Echo Park Paper Co.; Gems: Pinkfresh Studio; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; Trim: Michaels

I am sure that you all like pretty birthday packages, and gift wrapping is one of my favorite things to do! I always think that even the smallest of gifts is meaningful when it comes in a pretty package. So, today, I want to give you three ideas (from simple to elaborate) for how to create beautiful birthday tags featuring the new Salutations No. 1 collection from Echo Park Paper.

For my first and simplest tag, I used the Eyelet Circle Nesting Die Set and the Stitched Circle Nesting Die to create graduating die cuts from the collection’s 6×6 paper pad. These were attached together with a piece of foam adhesive to help add dimension. I completed the tag with a small, round sticker sentiment, and a few crystals—a simple and quick way to add the finishing touch to your package.

The second tag is a bit more elaborate. This time, I used the larger Eyelet Circle Nesting Dieto cut white cardstock and one of the patterned papers from the Salutations No. 1 collection. This time, I looped the trim through a loop on both of the tags. The sentiment comes from the ephemera pack, and all the florals were fussy cut from one of the 4×6 cards from the collection.  Once again, I added a few crystals to the tag, and tied a bow at the top loops of the tag.

For my last tag, I wanted to create an interactive element: a shaker tag! I used the two largest Eyelet Circle Nesting Dies to cut the detailed borders. Then, I used the Stitched Circles to cut one patterned paper circle for the back of the shaker element, and to cut out the circle frame from the smaller Eyelet circle. I added acetate behind the smaller scalloped circle frame, then added foam adhesive all around the edge of the frame. I filled the frame with crystals, then attached it to the larger circle, then to the larger Eyelet circle. I used cardstock stickers to embellish and add a sentiment to the tag.

I hope this post inspires you to create tags for your next present or paper crafting project, and add a special handmade touch! Remember to share your finished projects with us by tagging us on Instagram or Facebook.

Before I leave you, I want to take the chance to wish Scrapbook & Cards Today a happy 15th Birthday, “a Quinceañera” – sweet fifteen in Spanish!  We are so blessed to have this magazine filled with ideas and inspiration, and a large community along with it that is welcoming and loving. Thank you, Catherine, for having the courage to follow your ideas, and build this for all of us!

 Happy Birthday, SCT!
