We’re back for day three of our 15th Birthday Week celebration, and Latisha Yoast is here with us today to share how you can set the tone for a birthday celebration for yourself or a loved one by creating an ensemble of coordinating projects to dress up a birthday table! Let’s see this simple and so sweet idea to celebrate a birthday or any other happy occasion!
…………………………..
Hello SCT friends! It’s Latisha here with you today! Thank you for joining us while we celebrate Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine turning 15! It’s a party, and that means we need some yummy treats! I am bringing flowers, champagne, dessert, and a birthday card.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Lawn Fawn Magic Messages; Cardstock, dies: Lawn Fawn; Patterned Paper: Echo Park; Dies: Taylored Expressions; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, ThermoWeb
Adding simple touches to store-bought items is easier than one might think. Using the same patterned papers, stamps and colors brings repetition and a theme to tie it all together. I decided to cover the label on this bottle of wine by stamping a “happy birthday” sentiment onto patterned paper, die cutting it out, and adhering it to the bottle.
What is a birthday without a birthday card? Again, using the same patterned paper and stamp, the recipient can see a theme and feel special because everything matches perfectly.
Laying around your house, look for a barbeque skewer, toothpick or a straw to create the base for a cupcake topper! Cupcake toppers look very fancy, but are so easy to make. For this topper, I die cut a circle of patterned paper, then stamped a black sentiment onto the circle. Then, using different paper, I die cut another circle using the same die, die cutting a shape from the center to create a frame. Adhere these two pieces together with foam adhesive, then again to your skewer that will go into your cupcake.
Thank you so much for being a part of 15 years of SCT! We cannot wait to bring you more inspiration for 15 more. Please visit us on Instagram and Facebook to wish SCT a very Happy Birthday!
