Welcome to day two of our 15th Birthday Week celebration! Pocket pages not only help you record memories in a compact way, but they also make it easy to do it quickly by keeping the process simple—just sliding a cute filler card into the pocket next to a photo can tick that “done” box! Today, design team member Meghann Andrew is here to share two spreads that she put together in no time with new products from Scrapbook.com designed to make it simple! Let’s take a look, and don’t miss the amazing giveaways at the end of the post, too!

……………………………

Hey there, friends! It’s Meghann Andrew here to wish SCT Magazine a very happy 15th birthday! Thank you for being here for this special week of fun!

If you’ve taken my SCT365 Inside the Pocket class, you know all of the reasons why I love pocket page scrapbooking, but my favorite is that you can make it as simple or as complex as you want OR you have time for! Pocket pages are my go-to lately for ease of creating. Photos? Check. Words? Check. Cute products? YES, and our friends at Scrapbook.com have made this process so much simpler by creating Simple Scrapbooks card packs! I used their Celebrate pack today to create a double-page layout for my daughter’s album:

Supplies | Pocket cards, cardstock, tape runner, dye ink: Scrapbook.com; Glitter gems: Close to My Heart; Star enamels: Heidi Swapp; Washi tape: Crate Paper; Foam adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

These pages are all about the presents my daughter received this year for her 8th birthday and focused on the photos and words around her excitement!

The back of my first page for this spread was a traveler’s notebook page, sized at 4” x 8”, so I grabbed a 4” x 6” striped card from the Celebrate pack to create the top of the page, then added a pink cardstock from the Warms Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad, which coordinated perfectly to create the base of the page, adding a scalloped edge for that extra detail! To add my introductory text, I cut down a 3” x 4” journaling card from the Celebrate pack that included three presents—the perfect colours to set the tone of my pages, and topped it with a bit of shine—rose gold washi tape. At the top, I fussy cut banners from another 3” x 4” Celebrate pack card to add using dimensional adhesive for the perfect embellishment!

Because this page had a lot going on, I kept the opposite side sweet and simple, adding a pocket card at the top with more banners, and a journaling card at the base that I topped with a photo. I absolutely love the Scrapbook.com Wordfetti stamps, and I used the Best Day Ever stamp sentiments to add “love your smile” on a journaling spot cut from another 3” x 4’ Celebrate pack card.

The story of her gifts deserved two spreads, so on the left, I started with a Celebrate pack journaling card to record some of her gifts. To bring continuity across to this spread, I added another fussy-cut banner at the base.

Tip: Want to know how I print my journaling onto these pre-printed cards? Watch my “5 Minutes With Meghann: Amazing Adhesive Tips” video on the SCT YouTube feed!

Remember when I said you could make your pockets as complex as you want? Well, this simple gift card deserved a bit of embellishment, so I added a stripe of rose gold washi tape, stamped “hooray for you” using the Best Day Ever stamp and finished off this card with glitter gems from Close to My Heart.

A birthday layout just would not be complete without a look of wonder at a cherished gift, and this moment deserved a full 4” x 8” photo! To dress it up, I topped it with fussy cut banners again and a pink gift with “best day ever” stamped right on the top using the Best Day Ever stamp

If you’re struggling to keep up with creating layouts to record special memories like this, I hope you’ll give pocket pages, and coordinating card sets like the  Simple Scrapbooks card packs from Scrapbook.com a try! Thanks for joining me today to celebrate with us!
