Welcome to day two of our 15th Birthday Week celebration! Pocket pages not only help you record memories in a compact way, but they also make it easy to do it quickly by keeping the process simple—just sliding a cute filler card into the pocket next to a photo can tick that “done” box! Today, design team member Meghann Andrew is here to share two spreads that she put together in no time with new products from Scrapbook.com designed to make it simple! Let’s take a look, and don’t miss the amazing giveaways at the end of the post, too!
……………………………
Hey there, friends! It’s Meghann Andrew here to wish SCT Magazine a very happy 15th birthday! Thank you for being here for this special week of fun!
If you’ve taken my SCT365 Inside the Pocket class, you know all of the reasons why I love pocket page scrapbooking, but my favorite is that you can make it as simple or as complex as you want OR you have time for! Pocket pages are my go-to lately for ease of creating. Photos? Check. Words? Check. Cute products? YES, and our friends at Scrapbook.com have made this process so much simpler by creating Simple Scrapbooks card packs! I used their Celebrate pack today to create a double-page layout for my daughter’s album:
Supplies | Pocket cards, cardstock, tape runner, dye ink: Scrapbook.com; Glitter gems: Close to My Heart; Star enamels: Heidi Swapp; Washi tape: Crate Paper; Foam adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
These pages are all about the presents my daughter received this year for her 8th birthday and focused on the photos and words around her excitement!
The back of my first page for this spread was a traveler’s notebook page, sized at 4” x 8”, so I grabbed a 4” x 6” striped card from the Celebrate pack to create the top of the page, then added a pink cardstock from the Warms Smooth Cardstock Paper Pad, which coordinated perfectly to create the base of the page, adding a scalloped edge for that extra detail! To add my introductory text, I cut down a 3” x 4” journaling card from the Celebrate pack that included three presents—the perfect colours to set the tone of my pages, and topped it with a bit of shine—rose gold washi tape. At the top, I fussy cut banners from another 3” x 4” Celebrate pack card to add using dimensional adhesive for the perfect embellishment!
Because this page had a lot going on, I kept the opposite side sweet and simple, adding a pocket card at the top with more banners, and a journaling card at the base that I topped with a photo. I absolutely love the Scrapbook.com Wordfetti stamps, and I used the Best Day Ever stamp sentiments to add “love your smile” on a journaling spot cut from another 3” x 4’ Celebrate pack card.
The story of her gifts deserved two spreads, so on the left, I started with a Celebrate pack journaling card to record some of her gifts. To bring continuity across to this spread, I added another fussy-cut banner at the base.
Tip: Want to know how I print my journaling onto these pre-printed cards? Watch my “5 Minutes With Meghann: Amazing Adhesive Tips” video on the SCT YouTube feed!
Remember when I said you could make your pockets as complex as you want? Well, this simple gift card deserved a bit of embellishment, so I added a stripe of rose gold washi tape, stamped “hooray for you” using the Best Day Ever stamp and finished off this card with glitter gems from Close to My Heart.
A birthday layout just would not be complete without a look of wonder at a cherished gift, and this moment deserved a full 4” x 8” photo! To dress it up, I topped it with fussy cut banners again and a pink gift with “best day ever” stamped right on the top using the Best Day Ever stamp!
If you’re struggling to keep up with creating layouts to record special memories like this, I hope you’ll give pocket pages, and coordinating card sets like the Simple Scrapbooks card packs from Scrapbook.com a try! Thanks for joining me today to celebrate with us!

Fantastic layout! Love the colours! My favorite birthday gift I received was 16 roses on my Sweet 16 from my parents. We were in a rough time then (found out my mom had cancer at that time) and they wanted to make it happy for me as best as they could.
My favorite birthday present ever!?! Hard to remember, because our family never really made a big deal out of them. I did get go to the roller rink once with friends, and it was great! ????
My favourite birthday present ever received was a visit from my kids and grandchildren. Thank you for the chance to win one of these great prize.
Love the layout! Great inspiration. We never had a lot growing up but my parents always made us feel special on out birthday. My brother was my best present. He was born the day before my 2nd birthday. He has been my best friend ever since! My parents still kept our birthdays separate with 2 cakes and 2 special dinners. I have always felt very loved.
Meghann your work is always amazing! Happy birthday SCT! My favorite birthday present was from my husband. He gave me an iPad 2 years ago and it was a complete surprise! He rarely even gets me a card or acknowledges I am having a birthday so it was super special!
Best birthday ever was my 60th , my family surprised me with a full day excursion . I was presented with a large It’s my Birthday pin to wear all day. Patio lunch on the lake, a voyage around the lake on a tall ship, dessert and coffee lakeside to end the day! An amazing day spent with my family.
Happy 15th birthday SCT!!! My favorite birthday present was the gift of a entire day of pampering from my kids! From breakfast in bed to a spa day, it was a wonderful day!!
My best birthday is the next one!
Pocket pages are one of my newest fav for packing in all the photos! My favorite birthday “present” was a birthday party when I was about 10. My mom planned all sorts of games and prizes and I got to have several friends over for a sleep-over! This kind of thing was not too popular with my mom, so I knew when it happened that I had received the “gift” of a lifetime!
Wonderful prizes! I was able to go to a shelter one year to pick out a kitten. That was by far my most memorable birthday gift. Fluffy was one of the best kitties ever and we lost her at age 18.
Love the birthday layout! My favorite present ever was the 10 speed bike I received on my 9th birthday. I woke up and it was in my room with a giant bow on it.
Great giveaways….I love them all!
My favourite birthday gift was a trip to Mexico to meet up with two friends that I hadn’t seen in about 20 years….we laughed every single day….a great get together!
Wow, another day of awesome prizes. My favorite present was my first horse. I’ve loved horses all my life but wasn’t able to have any pets let alone a horse as my father was in the military and we moved all the time making it too difficult to own a pet. When he retired, I was 12, I got a horse for my birthday. Needless to say we were inseparable for many years.
Wonderful giveaway…
On my 10th birthday I got a puppy…
Who wouldn’t want a puppy !!
I always love seeing Meghann’s beautiful work. My favorite birthday present was when I was a freshman in college living far from home and my parents had a huge tub of ice cream sent to me to enjoy with all the girls in my dorm hall. I made many friends that day. ????
Beautiful layouts! Love the pocket page scrapbooking! Hmmm, Best birthday present? When hubby took me on a road trip getaway.
Such gorgeous layouts! My favorite Birthday was a surprise party when I turned thirteen….I don’t remember any gifts.Happy 15th Birthday ????
I love your pages. I think my favourite birthday was when I turned 40 and one of my friends threw a birthday party for me. It was a new beginning and a different life for me after that for that birthday party!! Enjoy the lovely weather coming up everyone.
Beautiful layouts! Best birthday gift ever was spending it in Nova Scotia, sitting by the sea as the sun set sipping a cocktail watching ships come and go
My favorite birthday gift was a cruise to Alaska for my fiftieth birthday. Breathtaking beauty everyday! Using pocket scrapbooking would have allowed me to add a whole bunch of extra pics…too bad it wasn’t readily available then.
Fantastic ideas and prizes. Favorite birthday was a surprise weekend trip to Victoria, B.C. when I was a new mom. Happy 15th SCT!
My favorite birthday present …. it was a surprise party for my 70th and just seeing all my family and friends at one time was the best present ever! Great prizes today!
My favorite birthday gift was my very own horse when I turned 12. Best gift ever! Spent every day with him. Pure joy!
I think my favourite “present” was when my husband put on a surprise 40th birthday party for me. I truly was surprised and get such a great time with friends.
Another awesome prize package – thank you very much to the generous sponsors!!! They NEVER disappoint :) My favourite gift was my very first Silhouette machine, which my husband and kids gave me when I turned 40. That old girl worked HARD for me!
Wow, Meghan, such beautiful pocket pages. So happy and cheerful! This birthday week is jammed full of amazing inspiration and amazing give aways. Thank you SCT and your amazing industry partners.
My favourite birthday gift was when my mom surprised me by coming to Ottawa to celebrate my 40th birthday! That was 18 years ago and she passed away ten years ago, but that memory remains as strong as ever. It was the best day ever. I don’t know how she and my husband kept that secret, but they did and it meant the world to me.
Thanks again SCT and partners for all that you do. Your products are amazing and over the past 12 months you have kept us all sane by providing content, inspiration and product that allowed us to craft our way through the pandemic. It has made such a difference. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Great giveaway! Thank you
My husband bought me a new engagement ring and proposed again for my birthday. I was so shocked, that instead of saying “yes” I said “what?”. This is now an inside joke for us!
Fav birthday present has to be our miracle daughter victoria rose- i was born nov 8th and she was born nov 7th 40 years later- she was born 8 hours before i turned 40 and dad was already 50- she was a delightful surprise and after over 18 years of marriage a great miracle, no drugs, just God’s timing and love to create her!
Love these pocket page layouts! Adorable!
My favorite birthday present ever received was a beautiful celebration my parents organized for me with family and friends for my 15th birthday! Huge party with lots of food and dancing! Had a blast!
Lovely project as always, Meghann!
My favorite birthday present ever was getting my two-wheel, big-girl bike when I was little!
Thank you for the opportunity to win!
Happy Birthday. I would love to win one of these prizes. Either one would be a new experience for me. Always good to learn new things.
Love love love the pockets!! And my favourite birthday present this year (my husband often gives me many)…is my new Cricut! Got it last Sat & I am over the moon with what it can do! I had put it off for SO long bc I thought I wouldn’t have the time or the energy to learn it. I was so wrong! Now I’m asking myself ‘what were you afraid of?’ Thanks for the chance to win & Happy 15th SCT!
For my 16th birthday my mom gave me a sterling charm bracelet with three special charms on it: a kitten (because I am a cat person and always have been), a piano, and a telephone that had “I love you” in the holes of the rotary dial. Every time we went on vacation, I got a new charm. I continued to add charms well into my adulthood, and now it is absolutely crowded. I still love it and I still wear it! (I gave each of my daughters charm bracelets when they were younger. Theirs are already full!)
I collect Alice in Wonderland editions and my husband buy me one different each year! I cannot choose one, I love them all!
I have started to love pocket pages thanks to Jess and now Meghan! My favorite birthday present was from last year: I finally got that birthday cake in the shape of a TARDIS I was longing for!
Wonderful giveaway and pocket product inspiration! Yesterday I told the story of a favorite gift (a Cabbage Patch Kids doll) so today I’ll tell a favorite birthday party memory: My mom would set up carnival style games for all us kids to play and there was even a prize bowl with little trinkets to win. So much fun.
Happy Birthday SCT and thank you for the chance to win these amazing prizes!!
My favorite birthday present would have to be the puppy I got for my 6th birthday. It was a poodle and I named him Toby. I hauled that dog with me everywhere, even dressing him up in my doll clothes!! He was my best friend and lived until he was 17 years old!!
Happy Birthday SCT!! At nearly 56 (my birthday will be April 9th) it’s hard to remember just one favorite birthday haha. But one thing is that it’s always been spent with family and German Chocolate cake with coconut and pecan frosting. There’s also usually some pretty bad but wonderful singing too. Honestly every birthday is my favorite now because I’m still here to enjoy life and my family. Thanks for the amazing day of giveaways. You sponsors rock!
Don’t really have a favorite birthday gift (or not that I remember anyway). I’m sure I thought were all great when I got them. Congratulations on your 15th Birthday Scrapbook and Cards Today. It should be extra special, especially knowing you made it through this year!
Gorgeous pocket scrapbook! I think this size is great so that you don’t feel so intimidated by a whole 12×12 page!! lol My fave birthday gift is just being blessed to spend it with my family!
Meghann just made an amazing pocket page scrapbooking, love her work so much. My favorite birthday present was a silver ring my husband give to me with little blue stone in the middle. Happy Birthday SCT and thank you for the chance to win.
Love the pocket pages album! My favorite birthday that is a hard one because I love all my birthdays! Oh wait my favorite birthday present? Ok I Have two . . . When I was a little girl my Mom and aunts sewed most of my clothes. One birthday I received a new dress with matching coat with white fur trim and a mum with matching hat! My more recent favorite was my Surprise 50th birthday which my daughters and family arranged!
My favourite birthday gift….any gift from my children, given from the heart.
Wow! Fantastic prizes! Last year for my birthday, my husband surprised me with a new car! I also love all the sweet handmade cards and messages that my husband and sons make for me every year- super special!
My favourite birthday present was spending a week with my friends in Orlando at Disney and Universal. I treasured that we were able to spend time together and share more memorable moments together. I love the pocket journal. What a great way to remember such a special occasion.
One of my favorite birthday gifts was my project cart from We R Memory keepers. I use it every day!!
What great inspiration for birthday creations. March is a busy birthday month for our family. So this is just in time. My favorite birthday gift came 22 years ago when my son was born just a few days after my birthday.
My best present ever was when my kids made me something handmade. I also love Megan’s pocket pages they are super cute. Thank you to the sponsors for the great prizes.
Great giveaways! I buy my own birthday gifts these days so they are always the best. My favourite was my little convertible , used but oh so fun in the summertime.
Wonderful prizes! My best birthday gift was my third (and last) child!
My favorite birthday present was my husband taking the kids out for the day so I could have a day to myself at home. Although I love them, it was nice to get a break from my little kiddos! Thank you SCT and happy birthday!
Your prize packages are the best. I’ve been a scrapper for 20 years and have gone from traditional to pocket pages, so Maghann’s pages were inspirational I’m going from 12×12 scrapbooks to a smaller size and I think this 4×8 would be perfect. My favorite birthday present was the chance to participate in last weekend’s Crop. My birthday was March 15 so this event was so perfect!
awesome giveaways – my fav birthday present ever would have to be when my family flew over from the UK to surprise me on my 50th birthday:)
