Hello SCT fans! I am so excited to be on the blog today for interNational Scrapbook Day! Who would have thought there would be a whole day just for us paper crafters!
Today is all about inspiration from our readers! I chose this amazing layout by Bea Valint from the inspiration gallery in the spring 2017 issue.
There are so many ways to draw inspiration from this page. When I look for inspiration, I look at a page almost like a sketch rather than copying it directly. I chose to go with two obvious elements in this page – the large circle focal point, and a whole lot of florals!
I diecut a large circle from my patterned paper much like Bea did on her page, and added a whole lot of fussy cut flowers to the top left and bottom right edges. It's a lot of work, but really looks great in the end!
Tip: I didn't have a large photo for my page, so twisted things up by using a 4×6 photo and moving my title beside my photo instead. When you look at a page like a sketch, it's easy to find what you have on hand and make it work, instead of feeling like you "have" to do it just like the original.
