I have a few card making classes I attend and while I love the variety of techniques i have learned, my favorites are anything that involves coloring. Watercolor, markers, I dont care…I find it so relaxing and i can spend all day trying to get shading just right!

I love making backgrounds, and my favorite technique is by Wendy Vecchi using Archival reinkers and alcohol. Just put a few drops of 2-3 colors on a craft sheet, generously add alcohol, and break up the colors w/ a palette knife. Swoosh a piece of Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper and waalaa! Tilt to & fro for some awesome drips while drying with a heat tool. Beautiful every time!

Yesterday when I saw the photo booth card on the blog I thought it was such a cute idea and headed to Your Next Stamp to look at all of the stamps offered for this fun design. I would love to win a gift card and would purchase that actual set! I enjoy using Copic markers to color in my stamps and recently one of my favorite things to do is made clouds on the backgrounds of my cards using a template I made from a cloud die cut. My favorite technique is using a permanent black ink on watercolor cardstock and using my watercolor paints to create the color. Some of the most interesting colors can run together into something really fun! The YNS stamps are so cute! love them.

My favorite technique (right now that is!) is using die cuts and layering. Not sure if you can call that a technique? I am going through my Christmas card list to send out cards to friends and family to let them know I am thinking of them. I am trying to use die cuts to layer on my cards with a “hello” or something for the front of my cards. My list is about 75 people so I need to make my cards simple but pretty.
