Today we are excited to welcome a new guest to the blog: Dilay Nacar! Dilay’s card creations are beyond beautiful, and often take a second, or even third look to see all of the delicate details that she adds. The card that she has to share with us today using the latest Pinkfresh Studio products is no exception, and we are so excited for you to discover her creations, if you aren’t familiar with her already! Let’s see what Dilay has to share with us today!

Hi, everyone! It’s Dilay here from and I am so excited to be a guest designer on the SCT Magazine blog! Today, I am sharing a layered floral card using brand new goodies from Pinkfresh Studio! When it comes to designing cards, my preferred aesthetic is a combination of lots of white space, layers, and a pop of color. This one is certainly no exception! Today’s ‘Thank You’ card features some of my favorites from Pinkfresh Studio’s ‘Essentials’ die collection, as well as the lovely new Pinkfresh Studio ‘Choose Hope’ stamp, die, and stencil set.

Supplies | Pinkfresh Studio: Choose Hope Stamp, Choose Hope Stencil, Choose Hope Die, Curvy Leaves Die, Essentials Ornate Banner Die Set, Essentials Inverted Stitched Scallop Circle Die Set, Sentiment Suite Thank You Die Set, Small Blending Brushes, Raspberry Bliss Premium Die Ink, Sparkling Rose Premium Die Ink, Aquamarine Premium Die Ink, Mint Premium Die Ink; Other: Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock, Glitter Cardstock, Flat Back Silver Bobbles, Liquid Adhesive

When creating layered cards, I tend to work from the background up, as it helps with placement and often guides my design process. I’m big on dimension, so I generally use foam tape with the background panels in order to enhance the layers and really bring the card to life. For this card, I began by cutting the three background layers using my go-to heavyweight cardstock: Neenah Classic Crest. The background consists of an A2-sized solid white panel, the Ornate Banner Die Set, and the Inverted Stitched Scallop Circle Die Set, all adhered together with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares

Now onto the fun part: layering stencils! I absolutely love layering stencils, they are all the rage lately, and for good reason! For those times you don’t feel like coloring, these stencils are easy to use, perfect for trying out new color combinations, and creating beautiful results. The Pinkfresh Studio Choose Hope Stencil is a 5-step stencil set, but I only used stencils 1 and 3 and went with a new (to me) combination of Pinkfresh Studio inks: Raspberry Bliss and Sparkling Rose for the blooms and Aquamarine and Mint for the leaves. I’ve found that trying new color combinations has resulted in some of my favorite cards, so don’t be afraid to try something new—it may end up being your new favorite! Once the ink blending was complete, I used the coordinating Choose Hope Die to cut out the flower and adhered it onto the background using foam tape.

The sentiment is an important part of the card. It has to be perfectly sized and placed so that it complements the center image but does not distract from the overall layout. With this style of card, I like to use a smaller sentiment with offset layers and something sparkly to catch the eye. Here, I used a Pinkfresh Studio Thank You Die, cutting it once in black and once in silver glitter cardstock. I then used liquid adhesive to stack the layers and adhere them to the card.

Now for the finishing touches, the part where we add a few small, but important, details and complete our card! As you can already tell, I love layers, so I usually add one or two more at the end. In this case, I cut a few Curvy Leaves to adhere behind the floral image. For a little shine, and to frame the center image, I added off-brand flatback silver bobbles around the scalloped circle.

I really hope that you enjoyed my card and found some inspiration! Be sure to give layering stencils a try—you’ll be amazed by the results! And to add some extra dimension to your cards, use foam tape and add in a few layers–—you won’t be sorry! Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
