Hi there SCT Friends! Nathalie with you today to share a new layout all about our adorable furry four-paw children, our pets.
Supplies: Patterned Paper, Stickers, Ephemera – DCWV- Playful Pets collection; Chipboard Alphas – Echo Park – Imagine That collection; Clear Stickers – Crate Paper – Willow Lane collection; Enamel Dots – Echo Park; Cardstock – American Crafts – Vicki Boutin – Foundation Paper pad; Mixed Media – American Crafts – Vicki Boutin – Color Kaleidoscope – Watercolor Markers; Adhesive – Foam tape, permanent strips – 3L; Digital Files – JustNick Studio – Paws to My Heart; Others – DC – embroidery floss; Paper piercing tool – WRMK
I wanted a colorful background that will match the playfulness of the picture of my baby Poochie, so I chose the Paws To My Heart Cut file from JustNick Studio to create the background for this page.
Once the cut out was created, I used the image to lightly trace -with a pencil- around the edges of the hearts onto a Foundation Paper from Vicki Boutin mixed media line. I used a bit of Color Kaleidoscope Watercolor Markers to add the mixed media background around the traced hearts.
While the watercolor dried, I used a pair of scissors to separate the row of paw prints from the hearts in the cut-out. The heart pieces were then glued with removable tape to the traced hearts; using a paper piercing tool, I created a stitching guide around the perimeter of the hearts and then used embroidery floss to attach them to the background.
The pawprints were then backed with papers from the Playful Pets collection from DCWV and a bit of foam adhesive. They were glued back to the background so that they complete the original die cut. With so many cute pieces of ephemera and stickers, it was so easy to create small clusters that add color and sentiment to the page.
I chose to back and layer the picture with paper that brings out the details of the picture and then added a cluster of ephemera and stickers to frame the picture. It was so hard to resist all those small cute stickers.
For the title of this page, I combined stickers and ephemera pieces from the Playful Pets collection with alphas from the Imagine That collection from Echo Park. To finish the page, the background was trimmed on all sides, and then glued to one of the papers from the collection. A few lines of journal and enamel dots complete this page.
I hope this inspires you to document all those sweet memories from your furry friends/children. Remember to share with us your finish projects, we love to be inspired by you!
XO
So adorable, the style, the colours and especially Poochie!
Oh Nathalie, you’ve done it again, such a wonderful layout.
Really cute, we sure love our four-legged children. Have a cat, Rascal George. He’s my world and was adopted after someone discarded him when they were moving. Love your layout.
You’ve done your sweet baby justice. So cute!
Super cute layout ❤️

Wow! So cute! I have lots of fur baby pictures that I may have to scraplift these ideas for.
Awesome! Great fur baby picture!
Adorable!
is the dog’s name “bog”? I love how cute it is… just didn’t know if that’s a play on words since bog rhymes with dog but since we don’t know I was curious.
What a cute doggy layout and a cute doggy. She looks like our Maxine who is a Boston Terrier mix.
Super cute layout for a super cute photo!
