Hello SCT friends! We’re so happy to be with you to share this beautiful fall layout from Suzanna Lee, featuring velvety soft, embossed autumn leaves and faux-woodgrain title letters created with our Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets and Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheets.

Suzanna chose four colors of Deco Foil Flock for her leaves: Sunshine Yellow, Orange Glow, Teal Waters, and Blue Sky. She backed each flock piece with double-sided Deco Foil Foam Adhesive to give the leaves more substance and extra dimension, and then she die cut three different leaves from each of the four colors.

While the Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets were the right colors, they weren’t the right “vintage,” so Suzanna aged them using Ranger’s Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and a large Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Stencil Brush. Just add on layers of ink to achieve the desired look, blending colors on each leaf to create depth.

Here’s a close-up of the Distress Oxide ink blending on a few of the flocked leaves. Knowing you can ink blend on the flock makes this product even more versatile! Try using our White Latte Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets with all of your favorite Distress Oxide Inks to create custom flock colors. Flock Sheets can also be used with Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO to create stenciled flock backgrounds, but that’s a tutorial for another day!

For her page title, Suzanna first backed a piece of Tuscan Gold Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheet with Deco Foil Foam Adhesive. Then she inked a woodgrain embossing folder with Distress Oxide Ink, placed the flock inside, and ran it through her die-cutting machine before die cutting the individual letters.

Amazing, right? We love the texture the flocked leaves and title gives her layout. You can create that faux-woodgrain look on any color of Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets, too, just use a darker ink shade on your embossing folder.

Thanks for joining us here on the SCT blog for this mini Deco Foil Flock tutorial today. We hope you’re inspired to give these techniques a try!
