Hello friends! It’s Latisha with you today to help celebrate Altenew’s Birthday! There is a multiple day blog hop, where 37 different prize packages are being given away! This is day 3, and if you just came from Nenette’s blog, you are in the right place! The next blog is Sveta, but in case you get lost, the complete list for today’s participants is at the end of this post.
The cards that I created to share with you today have a “hello” theme, but each uses a different technique with a different skill level from beginner to advanced. The floral watercolored card was the most time consuming—waiting for the paint layers to dry in between colors makes it a labor of love for sure!
The big flower in the Paint-A-Flower Poppy stamp set was stamped multiple times with black ink onto watercolor paper and then painted with watercolors. The panel was adhered to a grey card base and glittered drops were added. The Mega Hello die was used to die cut “hello” with black and turquoise cardstock and layered together using foam adhesive.
After creating a white card base measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches, the Flowing Hearts Stencil was taped over the card front. Using blender brushes, red, orange, yellow, green and blue inks were applied to create a rainbow heart. The sentiment “thinking of you” was stamped in black ink.
The “hello” was die cut with watercolor paper, and then watercolored using the same colors. Once dry, the diecut was adhered to the card using foam adhesive.
My third card has a tropical feel! Again, I created a 4.25 x 5.5 inch white card base. I trimmed turquoise, green and pink cardstock to 4.25 x .5 inches, and adhered the strips to the left side of the card front. Next, I stamped the sentiment in black ink. I die cut the Mega Hello die again, but with white cardstock. Using green, pink and turquoise inks, I stamped the leaves from the Forever Ferns stamp set onto the diecut greeting. 3D foam squares on the back of the diecut adhered it to the card front to give it some dimension.
