Hello, memory-keeping friends! It’s Anya here today and I would like to share a layout I created using our free cut file of the month, a beautiful floral frame created by Paige Evans!

To create this layout, I started by cutting the file first. I chose white cardstock, since I wanted the floral cut file to mimic lace, and add beautiful texture to my page.

Supplies | Cardstock: Neenah White; Patterned paper: Simple Stories, Echo Park, Pink Paislee; Brad, Stickers, Die Cuts, Enamel Dots: Simple Stories; Baker’s Twine: Hobby Lobby; Adhesive: Therm-O-Web

For years, 8.5 x 11” has been my favorite size for scrapbook pages, and since the square frame wouldn’t fit into this format, I decided to use just one strip for the layout. Using the “cut” tool in Silhouette Studio, I cut the frame in two spots and fixed a few edges. You could also cut the entire design, use your scissors to trim the piece that you wanted to use on your layout, and save the other pieces for future projects!

I like how this floral strip created a nice base for my photos, and it also serves as a connecting piece between the top and bottom layers of patterned papers. Such delicate die cut pieces may be tricky to adhere to the layout, but a nice dot runner will do the job. I used my favorite Gina K Designs dot runner by Therm-O-Web and it works great!

To finish this page, I added a few decorative pieces like enamel dots, brads, and a few smaller stickers. Also, since we are mentioning the handmade apron in the story, I couldn’t have finished a layout without adding a few stitches to the page!

I love how this layout turned out, and I hope you love creating with this month’s free cut file, too! Be sure to share your creation with us by tagging us on Instagram or Facebook, and using the #sctmagazine hashtag!
