Hello! It’s Virginia here to share a layout using a favourite go-to paper crafting technique: die cutting! I keep in my stash some steel-rule dies of basic shapes that are versatile for any project theme and make creating your own chipboard embellishments so easy and convenient! Take a look at the layout I created using them!
Supplies | Patterned paper, stickers: Vicki Boutin and American Crafts Color Study collection;
Steel dies: Sizzix; Stamps: Spellbinders; Ink: Ranger; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
I had a lot of fun creating with the Vicki Boutin and American Crafts Color Study collection. The purple hues coordinated perfectly with my main photo. Cutting my basic shapes out from chipboard and then covering them with another die cut of patterned paper allowed me to customize the shapes specifically for this page.
The memory of my drive-thru fast food meal had some ‘in the news’ worthy details behind it and I used a hidden journaling element of a 6 x 4-inch photo card to record the facts in a handy slide-out card.
Thanks so much for dropping by the blog today. I hope this inspires you to pull out your metal dies and add some simple, yet useful custom shapes to your next project! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for sharing your fantastic layout. I love this paper line by Vicki Boutin. It’s so versatile! I too am guilty of trying this offering from McD’s. The sauce really elevates the experience just like Vicki’s papers made your layout stand out. Can’t wait to craft with this line. Thanks for the inspiration.
