Welcome to day two of our birthday celebration, friends! Are you ready for another amazing day of inspiration and giveaways? Up first, we’re going to be dazzled by two cards from the talented Dilay Nacar featuring Concord & 9th products, then you’ll have a chance to win more of the latest and greatest products and gift cards from our partners! Let’s keep this party going!
Welcome, friends! It’s Dilay here today and I’m so excited to celebrate Birthday Week with SCT! Today, I’m sharing two bold and fun birthday cards that combine products that you may not normally use together. Nothing screams birthday like rainbow candles and bold sentiments with gold glitter details, right? So let’s get started!
Supplies | Concord & 9th Exclamations Dies, Concord & 9th Simply You Dies, Concord & 9th Snowfall Card Front Die, Concord & 9th Make a Wish Dies, Concord & 9th Pop-Up Par-tay Stamp Set, Concord & 9th Stitched Hearts Card Front Die, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Thin Foam Squares, E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive Runner
Like I do with most of my cards, I combined new and old products to create fun patterns and backgrounds. For the first card, I began by die-cutting a piece of white cardstock with the Concord & 9th Scalloped Frame die from the Simply You set. To add a bit of texture, I used the Snowfall Card Front Die, and once finished, I mounted it onto an A2-sized, top-folding card base. To create the focal point, I selected a few of my favorite cardstock colors from my scraps and die-cut candles using the Make a Wish die set. As a bonus, the Snowflake Card Front die creates a nice candle spark effect! For the flames, I used gold cardstock and gold glitter for a little extra sparkle!
I then embossed ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Pop-Up Par-Tay stamp set and trimmed it to size. I die-cut ‘happy’ from Exclamations Dies, once in black and once in gold to create a drop shadow effect, then adhered both to the candles using thin foam adhesive.
For the second card, I die-cut two A2-sized panels with the Stitched Hearts Card Front Die, adhering one onto a card base and using the other to die-cut the exclamations from the Exclamations Dies set. Next, I die-cut the shadows for each with the same colored scrap cardstock, and once complete, I adhered them to the card base and trimmed off the excess. For the sentiment, I die-cut ‘Happy Birthday To You’ from the same Exclamation Dies set in black and the shadow base in white, then adhered them together and onto the center of the panel. Of course, no card is complete with some glitz and glam, so I die-cut ‘birthday’ from the set in gold glitter and adhered it over top. To tie in the hearts, I added tiny die-cut black and gold hearts to both cards.
I hope you are inspired by these birthday cards and are excited to dig out some of your unexpected dies and stamps to create something new!

The Cayman Islands would be my ideal place to spend my birthday. Wanna sponsor my trip???? :)
This year I am celebrating 50th birthday. I feel blessed to be able to celebrate any birthday surrounded by my family and friends! So for me it’s not the place but the people that make any celebration. Thanks for another great opportunity for all kinds of fantastic prizes !
At 82, it’s hard to travel very far so
I’d be happy to celebrate my birthday
at home with my friends and family
around me. Love the die cut candles.
Love that idea – thanks for giving it.
My next birthday is my 50th so I’d like a getaway somewhere tropical like the Dominican!
I already know where I’m spending my next birthday later this spring, in Greece! It’s a milestone birthday this year and what better way to celebrate than with my bestie on a dream vacation.
The birthday themed products are giving me inspiration and I haven’t gone anywhere yet!
Oh I love Concord and 9th! Such great cards???? For my birthday I would spend it outside on a (hopefully) sunny day!
The ideal place for my next birthday…. I wouldn’t mind a trip to Chicago to see my best friend. The weather will be great that time of year and I miss her!
I would be perfectly happy to spend my next birthday in my craft room!
LOL and no interruptions.
I would like to be crafting at the beach with all my favorite tools and of course the new Scrapbook & Cards today magazine!
I have fond memories of turning 50 in New York City with my daughters and hubby. It was such a fun city and we got a selfie with Bradley Cooper. (The cherry on top of the birthday sundae.) That would be an ideal spot for my next birthday (If Bradley is reading this. ;))
Great idea Janet- I’m sure Bradley will be texting you in a few minutes to say he will be happy to see you for your birthday.
So many PRIZES! Hoping to get my hands on one of your new spring issues today. Can’t wait! But the cards and pages in today’s post is a good start on the inspiration.
The cards and the gifts from the sponsors are awe-mazing! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity. I’d like to spend my December birthday cozy at home, with my husband and mini schnauzer, crafting and reading during the day. Supper would be pizza followed by a ginormous slice of carrot cake, complete with cream cheese icing and a dollop (or three) of vanilla ice cream. Decadence!

We are celebrating my birthday a bit early this year in St. Paul, MN, home of the lovely Cathy Z. I went to college in the Twin Cities and I’m excited to eat my favorite pizza ever and the best chocolate cake ever. Also excited to explore with my kiddos, as they’ve never been there.
Beautiful cards and such great prizes again! My birthday is on the last day of school in June, so sadly I’m stuck at work that day…however, I’d love to spend my birthday out of the city and using our boat, and I’ll get my wish as the next morning we leave for a weekend fishing trip at a remote cabin!
Great cards!
I forgot to mention that I loved the Layout yesterday with the shaker balloons!
Today, the cards are wonderful!
I have ordered from Lawn Fawn (great service), and am checking out Honey Bee and Altenew!
I would love to spend my birthday with my family in Disneyland!
Happy Birthday SCT especially for bringing me light during the last few years with your virtual events. It kept the sunshine on for me during COVID and some tough times which led me to decide to retire at the end of 2021. WOW to the sponsors and prizes for Day 2 of this event…. they are amazing and so generous – Thank You all of you — may favorites of course being a card maker are Concord & 9th, Lawn Fawn, Altenew and Honey Bee. That is not to say that Bella Blvd doesn’t pull at my heart – as that is my favorite colors in and may entice me to start making some layouts for my nieces and nephews. Once again Thank You SCT and all the sponsors for bringing such happiness to all of us.
Honestly these days, I like spending my birthday at home with my family, but I would also love to either be at Disney World or in the UK for my birthday. I’ve never been to the UK but it’s on my bucket list. Disney, I could go every year if I could afford it LOL
Fabulous prizes – I would love to spend my birthday on a Caribbean cruise:)
