That is so adorable! – with my 1st child getting to leave next year πŸ™ it would be great to compile all our traditions and recipes in a great keepsake…heading over to Bo Bunny’s site to check it out.
Pretzel Chocolate deliciousness – Heat oven to 375
Line a cookie sheet with tinfoil and cover with crushed pretzels.
Combine 1 cup of butter and 1 cup of brown sugar and bring to a rolling boil – let simmer (rolling boil) for 3 minutes – do not stir!
Pour over pretzels and smush around – don’t worry if it doesn’t go right to the edges – it will flatten out in the oven!
Put in oven for 5 minutes. Remove and sprinkle with chocolate chips – let sit for a couple minutes and smear them around.
Let cool on the counter then put in the fridge or freezer until set/hard. Break apart – delish!!

  35. Nicole November 22, 2013 at 1:55 pm

I’ve loved this collection since I saw a preview of it months ago!! A friend of mine used some of the wintery ones for decorations at her wedding earlier this month! I love the stinkin’ cute elves and colors and EVERYTHING about it. I’ve wanted to get a book since the first release, and haven’t had a reason to justify it. But Christmas/Holiday recipes are the perfect reason!
MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY RECIPE IS MY MOTHER”S HOMEMADE PECAN PIE. Second best, is the lemon meringue. She just makes them the best and I crave them all year.

  36. Charlotte Brochu November 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm

My kids have requested some new Christmas baking this year, so I’m on the hunt for some new things to try! I’ve already gotten some good ideas of things to find! Elf Magic is so darned cute and would be great for a mini album for our little Ellie the Elf and her adventures this year! Thanks for the chance!

  37. Kim S (nerdgrl) November 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm

Yes, please. Love the collection. Favorite recipe? My brother-in-law dubbed it the Mother Ship when he first saw it. It’s the lady finger refrigerator cake that was published in an early edition of The Joy of Cooking. My mother made it only for Christmas dinner. You make it in a big bowl, turn it over, and frost it with a fluffy white icing; hence, the Mother Ship.

  38. Judy Paukert November 22, 2013 at 2:01 pm

    Love this set!! So cute!

  39. Glenda Thorne November 22, 2013 at 2:03 pm

I have been wanting to do this for years! I want my kids to have a copy of recipes passed down through generations. Wonderful tradition. What a great collection and such a generous prize πŸ™‚
One of my favourite recipes is one that my grandmother found on the back of a bag of chocolate chips MANY years ago… They’re called Chipit Dreams. Melt 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips & 1 cup butterscotch chips in double boiler. Stir in 250g cubed cream cheese until melted. Add 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries & 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. Pour mixture over 2 cups mini marshmallows (I use white, but my grandmother & mom both used fruity ones). Gently stir to combine. Drop by teaspoonful into 2-3 cups unsweetened medium coconut. Surround with coconut to completely cover and place mound on wax paper. Chill. Makes 4 dozen.

  41. Rea Custer November 22, 2013 at 2:13 pm

  46. Charlene O November 22, 2013 at 2:28 pm

Easy, my Mom’s shortbread cookie recipe. My Mom is the best baker ever but sadly has very bad arthritis so she doesn’t bake very much anymore. She has this recipe book that holds everything that is almost 48 years old, very beaten and weathered looking. I would so love to win this prize as I could transfer everything into this new book with pictures of her grandkids and my sister and I. Awesome gift for Mom and a family treasure to pass down πŸ™‚

  47. Dorina D November 22, 2013 at 2:36 pm

Congrats to the winners. What a fabulous collection MISC ME is. So perfect for holiday recipes. My favorite recipe is my dad’s Christmas Waffles. which for the past 50 years + we serve Christmas morning for up to 50 family and friends. Dad got called to work at 2 am Christmas morning, so before he left he wrote down his recipe: 1 yellow c.flour, 1 blue c. sugar, 1 orange c. oil, 8 eggs, milk, 1 spoon baking powder. No directions just those ingredients. thankfully, those were the colors of our measuring cups (some of which I still have) so breakfast was served that day. We still use this recipe for Christmas breakfast. But now we added a 1/4 cup of orange liquor to it.

  48. Vanessa Babin November 22, 2013 at 2:40 pm

I like to make a fresh cranberry/orange relish. Put one bag of fresh cranberries in your food processor or blender, add one orange, cut into 8ths with peel left on, plus about 1/2 cup sugar. Blend until coarse and refrigerate. Great with the turkey or ham on your Thanksgiving table or as a condiment with sandwiches at any time.

  106. Katie Holder November 23, 2013 at 12:25 am

First of all, I absolutely love the new Elf Magic collection. It has the perfect whimsical Christmas for all types of Christmas/Winter recipes.
My favorite holiday recipe is one for Peppermint Biscotti that I found online several years ago. It’s made with crushed up candy canes mixed into the batter and then sprinkled on top of the loaves before the first baking. The absolute best part (at least in my opinion) is that it doesn’t have nuts, which is so hard to find in biscotti, and makes it edible for me and my nut allergies.

  107. Mai November 23, 2013 at 5:12 am

  108. Kathy A. November 23, 2013 at 6:41 am

This collection just screams Christmas to me. I would love to win it….thanks for the chance. My favorite holiday recipe is Santa’s Buttons made with a round pretzel, a Hersey Kiss inside the middle of it, microwave it and after the Kiss melts stick a red or green M&M on top. Very pretty, yummy and easy enough for the kids to make.

  116. Violet November 23, 2013 at 1:27 pm

I don’t like hardly anything sweet but I do like candied (lightly candied) sweet potatoes.
Slice the sweet potatoes (3 large)(skins on) about 1/4″ thick and quickly pop into cold water and boil until barely fork tender. Drain (keep water) and let cool. Remove skins and place in casserole dish. Pour about 1 cup of water into a saucepan. Add about 1/4 cup brown sugar and about 1T of butter (sorry I don’t measure when I cook)and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and pour over sweet potatoes. Bake at 350F for about 30 – 40 minutes.
