Hello friends! It’s Latisha, and I am back on the SCT blog sharing a fun idea using the SCT bonus file content! Every time a new issue is released, there are also new printables and digital die cuts available for you to download—for free! Take a look at our extensive library of bonus files to find years and years of free files for you to use on any project. The cards that I am sharing today were created using the “2020” cut file that Cathy Z. created for the spring issue.

Supplies | Digital die cut: 2020 Cut File by Cathy Zielske, Cardstock: Close to My Heart Black and Canary; Lawn Fawn white; Stamps: Lawn Fawn; Ink: Close to My Heart black; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D foam squares & permanent tape runner

A few months ago, none of us knew what life would be like as we entered May. It is heartbreaking, but understandable to see graduations canceled. My heart goes out to all of the families out there who are trying to find ways to celebrate such happy moments, and I wanted to create some cards to recognize local graduates!

This digital die cut was originally created by Cathy to be used as a title page for a layout, but I shrunk it down so that it would fit onto an A2 sized card, 4.25” x 5.5”. Since it is a digital file, it can be enlarged as big as your cutting mat and can be used on cards, DIY gift bags, walls for decorations, strung together for a banner, enlarged on poster boards or on a layout to remember the celebration!

I shrunk the file down so that six die cuts could be cut from a 6” x 12” sheet of Close to My Heart smooth cardstock. I created six in each color, black and yellow, so the outline would be one color and the inside would be the other. Strips of 1/2 inch cardstock were adhered at a diagonal onto a white card base. The “congratulations” sentiment was stamped in black ink underneath. Each die cut was adhered at a diagonal as well with foam adhesive. To balance the card, a diamond was stamped multiple times over the card in black ink.

When using a digital cut file, it is all 100% customizable! Coordinating your loved ones school colors with the 2020 file could not be easier. I plan on gifting these cards to a teacher whose school colors are black and gold to give to her students!

Hopefully, I have introduced you to the possibilities of the free bonus content offered by SCT. If you happen to use this cut file on graduation cards, please be sure to tag us, @sctmagazine and use the #createwithsct hashtag on social media. We would love to see what you created!
