Hello friends!  Welcome to Card Cafe Thursday!  Today I am sharing a couple of cards created with my favourite season in mind…Fall!

I always feel a jumpstart in my creativity as Autumn approaches and enjoy using the brilliant colours associated and all of the traditional icons that represent this time of year.

One of my current favourite stamp sets if the Fall of Color set from Your Next Stamp.  This set is perfect for those of you who love to colour your stamped images or paper-piece, or for very basic stamping.

For my first card, I began with a white cardstock base and stamped my images in watermark ink and then heat embossed each using white embossing powder.  I added colour using the ink blending technique, sponging colour over my embossed images and watching them pop!

Autumn is Like Spring Card: Supplies Used: STAMPS:  Fall of Color from Your Next Stamp, INK:  Papertrey Ink, CARDSTOCK:  Reverse Confetti, PAPER:  Fabulous Fall from Your Next Stamp and Fall Break from Carta Bella Paper Co., DIES:  Fall of Color from Your Next Stamp and Papertrey Ink, ADHESIVE:  Scrapbook Adhesives, OTHER:  Sequins, seam binding, jute

I then created a focal point where I could stamp my sentiment and highlight it using stamped and die cut images, adhering them to add dimension and depth.

My second card uses stamped images combined with patterned paper.

This is a simple way to bring in colour and pattern, which instantly adds character and personality.

My tiny acorn was created using the paper-piecing technique, where I snipped different patterns and colours of paper to create my unique image.  Wood leaves bring in the warmth and texture of Autumn along with a bow tied with jute at the top of my tag.

There’s so much to enjoy about this special time of year.  I encourage you to dive in and create with texture, colour, and patterns as you pull out for favourite fall products.

Enjoy your creative time today!
