Hello everyone! Melissa Phillips here with you today, sharing a couple of Valentine’s Day cards…my favourite kind of cards to create! I’ve used some of the sweetest supplies from Stampin’ Up! on my projects today, so let’s get started.
Texture is such a fun element to bring into handmade cards and there are so many products available to make this happen. I’ve used the Stampin’ Up! Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders on my cards. They are just the right size for card-making and add so
much without much effort.
After embossing my white cardstock, I sponged on pink ink to highlight the lovely texture just a bit. I then added my stamping, using images from the Sure Do Love You stamp set and Lots of Love Box Framelits Dies.
I stamped half of the leafy heart image on my card base and then added the scripted heart using dimensional adhesive to make it pop up a bit from the background. They tiny conversation hearts in this set are so darling and looked just like candy stamped in assorted pastels. I added self-adhesive sequins from Stampin’ Up! to complete the card.
On my next card, I used a different embossing folder found in the Petal Pair set and this time, left it untouched. It looks so beautiful peeking out from beneath my stamped images.
Patterned paper is another favourite element of mine and I added a bit of gingham paper across the top from Crate Paper’s Main Squeeze collection. I then started adding my stamped and die cut images to create my focal point.
I used a die-cut tag from Papertrey Ink and layered on my stamped hearts and banner. I love the distressed, weathered feel to the images in the Sure Do Love You stamp set, it adds a bit of a textured feel as well.
Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy Creating. Thanks so much for visiting!
Melissa
