Good morning SCT friends! It’s the final day of our September “get back into your scrap space” challenge! Today, sweet friends, we have an awesome PageMaps sketch challenge. And we know how much you LOVE a PageMaps sketch challenge. Creative team members Nicole Nowosad (who put this week of challenges together, thanks Nic!) and Wendy Sue Anderson also join in the fun by sharing what they created with this sketch…
“Hi friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a layout I created inspired by this fun sketch! Of course, with fall in the air, I had to take a cue from the weather and pull out some fun seasonal supplies to scrapbook these photos from a beautiful drive my husband and I took up in the mountains above our home last autumn.
I used products from both Close To My Heart and Carta Bella Paper. The color pallets were a perfect match and I loved being able to mix and match! After I finished my layout, I still wanted to add a bit of journaling, but I didn’t really want to change the design of the page to add it – so I flipped the page over and added it there! Easy Peasy and I’m so happy to have this page complete! Bring on Autumn – it’s the most inspirational season for creativity!!

Here are a few of my favorite tips for getting out of a creative rut:
1. Go back to your roots. When I started scrapbooking over twenty (gasp!!) years ago, my layout size of choice was 8 ½” x 11” pages. These days I mostly scrapbook 12”x12” pages, but I love mixing it up once in a while too. This sketch could have easily been converted to a larger format, but I loved just taking the inspiration in a straightforward way and creating an 8 ½” x 11” page!
2. Let Nature inspire you!! Go out for a drive or a walk and just take it in. Take photos if you want (like I did here). Just relax and let the inspiration roll in. Whether you actually scrap photos from your nature jaunt or not, a bit of natural beauty and fresh air will likely do the trick and get your creative gears cranking!
3. Let a beautiful collection or selection of products inspire you! You might choose a favorite collection and use it exclusively, or mix and match (like I did here), but let the colors and themes inspire your beginning point. Find photos to match the products!
4. If you have a story to tell, TELL IT!! And use your own handwriting – your grandkids will appreciate it!! ????

Hey everyone! Nicole Nowosad here today to share my take on a fun sketch challenge for you! I love a good sketch. It is such a great way to kickstart your mojo and get your creative flow happening.
When I look to sketches for inspiration, I use them as a jumping point for my project. In this case, I created a layout and a card using the same sketch! I used the central column on the sketch as well as the floating circles on both projects.
Supplies: Patterned paper: Pink Paislee; Cardstock: American Crafts
I started the layout with that column down the centre of the page and used a leftover title from my August classroom page for SCT 365! It was perfect for my photos and saved me some time as it was already cut and ready to go!
Once I layered a section of patterned paper to create the column down the left centre of the page, I added some smaller strips of paper to add some color and a little interest too!
Next, I popped the diecut title with some foam adhesive and added some punch patterns to the inside of some punched flowers on the page.
I was inspired by this sketch to create a pretty card too! I cut some small 1” squares and added them to the card front to create the column on the front of the card.
I added punched strips along the edges of the column and then added a simple sentiment using a pre-printed square.
It is simple to be inspired in a few different ways using just one PageMaps sketch! I hope you will give this sketch a try and get your mojo going!

Fall is my most favorite time of the year too. I love fall leaves ???? in Central New York. And it’s perfect jeans and sweatshirt weather. Plus it’s school photo time. They’re a pricy, but so worth it for me.
