Hi there SCT followers, its Virginia from Fynes Designs here to share a fun craft with you today.  Last weekend I had the pleasure of joining the Scrapbook & Cards Today team at Crop & Create Moncton where I got to do a fun make and take with all the attendees.  I loved it so much I couldn’t wait to share it with you too!

If you follow along with me on Instagram you’d know my love for making little wooden signs. Of course that’s what I wanted to share with the group, but I added a little scrappy twist for this fun off the page project.

Camera-wooden

To make this sign we used some very basic supplies. A small pine (or spruce) board cut 1x 8 cut 5” long and a 1x 3 cut 5” long.  If you don’t have a saw at home, The Home Depot will make lumber cuts free of charge for you. Then using a 1 ½ “ hole saw I carved the lens groove in the front (again if you don’t have a hole saw you could use a wooden disk from the craft store). The last step is to drill a hole for the view finder and a small hole on the top for the clicker, which you can then place a 1” roofing nail in to.

To finish the sign you can add a strand of May Arts Ribbon (I used Salmon Colored Faux Canvas, and 1/8” Grey Diagonal Stripe) simply with a thumb tack. Then simply use wood glue to hold everything in place; you’ll need about 30 minutes drying time.

Then comes the fun part embellishing! Add washi tape, enamel dots, gems, thickers, and the sign is perfectly sized to hold a cute 3×4” printed card or one you make yourself!

Wasn’t that a super easy and fun off the page project?!

To add one more prize for the SCT 9th birthday celebration that just wrapped up (let's keep the fun going!), I would love to offer one lucky reader this fun woodensign I made…
