Welcome, everyone! This is Mindy Eggen here with you today to share a set of sympathy cards. Those are the hardest to make, right? What are the right words to say? What are the right images or colors to use?

My opinion? I don’t think there is a right or a wrong way to make them. They don’t even have to have the word sympathy on them. The point of a sympathy card is to show the person you are thinking of them and they are loved. No matter the card design, it will surely bring them a little smile in a dark moment.

What better way to bring a little sunshine to someone’s day than with butterflies & florals. Pinkfresh Studio has the perfect collection that not only makes great sympathy cards but is versatile enough that you can use for any occasion or no occasion at all other than to bring a smile.

If you have to make a card for someone in particular, maybe think about what that person likes. Do they like rainbows or a particular color? Do they love critters or flowers? That’s a great way to personalize the card and show you are thinking of them.

I love the florals from Pinkfresh Studio because they are uniquely designed and have such great coordinating products. You can find stamps, dies, stencils and hot foil plates that work together or can be used individually. The Choose Hope set as shown below is not only named perfectly, but has a delicate floral cluster that I can add to each corner of the card and pull your attention to the center for the sentiment.

The Choose Hope layering stencils, as used in my cards, are a great way to add detail to your floral images. I like to pair them with the Pinkfresh Studio ink line because of the beautiful variety of color in each set.

Butterflies are a great symbol of hope and new beginnings. This large image from the Butterflies stamp is taking center stage of my card.

Add a subtle background to your cards with the Folk Garden hot foil plate for a little shine.

For even more shine, hot foil a sentiment. The Perfect Sentiments hot foil set allows you to foil and die cut the sentiment all at once for your convenience. Then pop your chosen sentiment up with foam squares for a little dimension. It adds so much to a card design.

Leave the card as-is or add a few Gold Metallic Pearls to put on that finishing touch.

A cream card base paired with the white of the foiled background also adds such a soft touch.

While these cards are what I would consider perfect for a sympathy card, I could also use them to just send a smile to a friend! I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration. Thanks so much for joining me today!
