Layle Koncar

Howdy friends!  I’ve been scrapbooking for the past 22 years, since the birth of our first son, seems like it’s been since the beginning of time!  After more than 12 years working in the scrapbook industry for various manufacturers, earlier this year I took my love for all things paper & planning and made a BIG leap to go out on my own and focus full time on growing my Layle By Mail business offering scrapbook & planning project kits by mail.

I’ve been teaching for the last 16 years & have had the amazing opportunity to travel the world teaching and making connections with other scrapbookers that share the same passion for the hobby. Besides scrapbooking, I love traveling, reading, shopping, decorating, binging on Netflix, dieting (ok, not really!) and spending time with my husband as brand new empty nesters!

To catch up with me (Layle Koncar), my recent projects & shenanigans, you’ll find me here –

Jill Broadbent

Jill Broadbent is the Creative Communications Manager for Close To My Heart. Creativity and education are the foundation of her role with the company. As an avid scrapbooker and memory keeper, Jill has spent 15 years teaching how to use products and create works of art to preserve memories. She feels fortunate to have the unique opportunity to make her talent and passion her profession as well.

Jill loves anything turquoise and ribbons and trims in all forms. She is a hand-letterer and tries to find time in each day to letter a quote or verse as a form of creative therapy. A perfect day would be movies playing in the craft room and food delivered so she didn’t have to stop creating! Jill has three adorable children, who are used to being poster children in Close To My Heart artwork, and a very supportive husband, Dave.

Virginia Nebel

I am passionate about memory keeping and in addition to scrapbooking about my family I love to make mini-albums and cards.

Actually, anything that involves pretty papers, sparkly embellishments and some jelly beans to snack on I am there!

My scrapbooking style is clean, simple and infused with layers of whimsy.   I’m always thinking of fresh new ways to use crafty products and putting a fun spin on existing tools and techniques.

I have designed scrapbooking classes on-line but what really fills my heart is teaching at events in person. I have been very fortunate to teach at Crop & Create events across Canada and being inspired by all the creative people that make up our amazing crafting community!

When I’m not in my craft room (and snacking on jelly beans) I love to spend time at the cottage with my family and 2 pups!

Jess Forster

Jess Forster knew she was addicted to scrapbooking after completing her first Week in the Life project in 2010. Taking a photo journalistic approach to memory keeping, Jess’ motto for the hobby is to: “document her family life adventures, big & small”. Jess loves paying attention to the life’s details via heartfelt journaling, divided page protectors, traveler’s notebooks, hybrid elements and big bold photos in her layouts.

Jess has been on a variety of creative teams including Becky Higgins Project Life Creative Team (2014); Ali Edwards Creative Team (2017-present) and Elle’s Studio Design Team (2018). Jess has taught online at Big Picture Classes (2015-2016), in various scrapbook stores across Ontario. From time to time, she interviews other memory keepers on her podcast, Pocket Talk. Jess especially loves connecting with fellow scrapbookers in person at the Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine Crop & Create events and has done so since 2016.

When Jess is not getting crafty or making memories with her husband and two kiddos, Rowan and Sam in the Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto, ON, you can find her listening to podcasts, running or drinking too much coffee.
