Hey SCT friends! it’s Erica here with you today! It is challenge week on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog as we count down to the big reveal of our Spring 2020 edition! Make sure to check out the blog every day leading up to the big day on Friday! Today I am working with one of the SCT free sketches. You can find a ton of inspiration on the SCT website and a huge library of sketches to get your creative juices going!

I picked out this sketch that I absolutely love and I hope you love it too! I encourage you to check out all the sketches and save some for when you need a little jump start to get going on a project. You can follow the sketch 100% or pull your favorite parts from it to get started.

You will notice that I did not follow the sketch exactly, and that is okay! Sketches are there to provide inspiration and you can make it your own. I loved the long, horizontal piece going through the center of the layout, so I pulled out the new Pink Paislee Bloom Street paper 24 and fussy cut out some of the colored arrows. I wanted to use these arrows to create that vertical line. For some added texture I ran them through my sewing machine. Using stitching on your project is an easy way to get some texture and interest!

I wanted to bring some color to the background as well, so I pulled out a mix of mists from my stash to sprinkle on some color. Once this was dry, I adhered all the arrows and started to add my photos and embellishments. I used the beautiful Bloom Street mixed floral embellishments and cardstock sticker book. This layout came together so easily using this sketch and the Paige Evans Bloom Street collection.

For my title, I wanted to bring in some gold so I pulled out the Hello Thickers from the Pebbles Hey Hello collection

To finish off my layout, I added some journaling strips using my We R Memory Keepers typewriter. I hope you all enjoyed my layout today! I would love to see you use this sketch or any of the wonderful free sketches available on the SCT website. Please tag us on social media at @sctmagazine and use the hashtag #createwithsct if you create a project using one of our sketches. We would love to see your work! Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
