Hi everyone, Jen here today and I’m sharing a page created with a photo of my childhood. I don’t often do this, but it’s a great reminder to get those old photos out and scrapbook them! When working with older photos, I always scan them and print a copy to scrapbook that way I can retain the original.
Supplies: Patterned paper – Studio Calico; Cardstock – American Crafts; Stamp – Studio Calico; Embellishments and Title – Ali Edwards Design; Other – typewriter, sewing machine
I started with an 8.5×11 sheet of white cardstock, then layered on patterned paper at the top. I placed my photo and title, then decided which embellishments to use. I tried to use whimsical colors along with stars to convey the Disney theme.
After embellishing, I typed my journaling and cut into strips. I also added a few stamps to finish the layout.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I hope I’ve inspired you to scrapbook some of those older photos!
Love this layout! Putting those old photos to paper really brings all of the memories to the surface. I recently finished making two albums (one for each of my grown kids) about my life from birth to having children. I had to spread it out over time (about two years) because it was so intensely emotional. (Not to mention I had to make two copies of each page, which was also intense!)
^^^I, to, am very inspired seeing older pictures on current styling of layouts! Great job on your beautiful and memorable page and thanks for the push to dig out some older photos!
Cute layout Jen!! Using older photos of special moments that never made it on a layout or pocket page is such a good idea — one I don’t do often enough cause I am too wrapped up in capturing the present!
Awesome layout! I love how you were able to incorporate more “current” products with an older photo. :) ~ Andrea
That’s a super lovely layout !
