Happy New Year everyone! Stacy Cohen here today with a fun way to use washi tape! Starting the new year I like to get my ducks in a row for the months to come. It's always nice to have some simple birthday cards on hand, especially with teenage daughters who often have last minute birthday parties crop up!
Here's a set of cards I made using washi tape and a few extra embellishments. I let the washi tape cut-outs do double duty for me, using both the positive and negative images of each cut-out on two separate cards.
It's very quick and easy to make these cards. I first cut out a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than my card front, then I added strips of washi tape across it.
Next I used a steel die to cut out the shapes. Of course you could use a paper punch or other die-cutting tool to do the job.
I adhered the negative image to one card front and the positive image to another card front, then added my sentiments and embellishments. Two for the price of one!
I hope you're inspired to give this technique a try! Please share your projects with us on our Facebook page or tag us (@sctmagazine) on Instagram. Have a fabulous day!
