Hi there SCT fans! It’s Nicole Nowosad, and I am back with another lesson in the “Designed With” series to share a fun video on how you can create dimension with a folded patchwork pattern!

Supplies | Patterned paper, cardstock, stickers, gems, ink: Close to My Heart; Ink – Ranger Distress Oxide

This technique is fun and easy, and can be applied to many different types of projects! I used the Serenity collection from Close to My Heart to create this wintery project. The great mixture of blue patterns in this collection just screams to be combined, but sometimes that can be tricky!

The trick is to use less. Let your patterns combine and add neutrals together to balance things out! Folding paper in this easy way is a great way to add pops of other patterns without overwhelming your project.

Add in layers of neutrals by using stamped images or stickers, and add glitter or foil for a shiny and wintery feel!

Sit back and play along—let’s create a fun folded patchwork background!

I hope you will give this quick technique a try! Just think of the different combinations you can create with this simple and versatile pattern!

Thanks for joining me today, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

~ Nicole
