Hi there SCT fans! It’s Nicole here to share video #36 in my Designed With Nicole series. Today, we are going to create a fun and easy mixed media background using some drips and drops!

It is really amazing how you can quickly create a fun mixed media background for your page with just a few drips and drops. I used Vicki Boutin Art Crayons for this technique, but you could do the same technique with any paint products, such as watered-down Distress Ink, or Hero Arts Watercolor inks.

You will need a round-ended paintbrush to get the best results from your drips and drops. The larger your brush, the larger your drops will be. I used two different sized paintbrushes for my background along with a variety of different colored inks.

If you are a beginner to mixed media, this is a great technique to try as it is quick and not too messy to do! It is a lot of fun adding the drips and drops but does require a little patience to let each color dry in between the layers of color.

If you can’t find the right paper for the background of your project, why not give this a try and create your own unique background that is custom made to your photos!

Sit back and watch how easy this background is to complete and play along if you can!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing some time with me! I hope you are inspired to give this technique a try today. Be sure to also subscribe to our YouTube channel to keep up to date on all our process videos.
