Hello SCT magazine readers! Nicole here to talk all about creating patterns with stamps. If you are at all like me. you are drawn to pretty stamp images and then maybe you don’t dust them off enough and put those stamps to work! I think it’s about time to grab a set of stamps you love and put them to work.

I recently found a set of stamps I love that has these beautiful floral images. I was determined to make 3 simple cards with them, all different and unique by making some fun backgrounds on each card front.

Supplies: Cardstock: American Crafts; Stamps: Concord & 9th; Enamel Dots: Doodlebug Designs; Ink: Close to My Heart; Mist: Studio Calico, October Afternoon

The process is quite simple really. Vary your pattern, vary your colours and even overlap and most importantly – PLAY! Have fun with it! Try stamping in a block, or even along a masked offline and you can use the same stamps to create totally different looks on your card.

This first card was created by stamping a background in the top and bottom corner of the card front.

Change the ink colours and stamp into a blocked square shape to create a framed patterned area using the same stamp set.

Mask off one section of your card and stamp over the open area to create a fun, bordered stamped area!

Watch how you can do this too with a favourite set of stamps (or more!) – sit back and relax and see how these cards came together:

Thanks for joining me today!
