Designer Inspiration with Kim Watson!

Good morning and happy Wednesday SCT friends! We are pleased to welcome designer Kim Watson who resides in beautiful South Africa to the SCT today.  Kim shares a darling layout she created with a Valentine's Day theme along with a free cut file she designed just for you!

"With Valentine's Day this weekend…I thought I'd share a page I created about my honey & I. The theme of the page is Valentine's Day, but it could be interpreted to suit any theme about love!

After adding a water color wash to the edges of my patterned paper, I created a 'mat' of vellum hearts. Stitching them in rows adds structure to the background. Notice how cute the splatters look showing through the vellum?

Using a bright pink water color paint, I made a patterned paper of rough circles, doodled in black pen; the perfect accompaniment to the water washed background paper. I pulled out my dies to make the gold speech bubble 😀 First I die-cut the 'hello' title sentiment & then cut the talk bubble, sticking white paper behind, for emphasis.

Layering black die-cuts onto a white mat, really makes them pop!

A little pink ink & date stamp is a super way to add subtle interest to any accent cluster.

Have you tried layering white label stickers together as a journal spot?
