Hi everyone and welcome to my first SCT blog post of the year! I created a love-themed album celebrating our 11 anniversaries, perfect for the month of February which is all about LOVE!

This mini album is tiny as you can see in the pic above – it’s only about 2″ across and fits in the palm of my hand. It’s a mini-mini album for sure! I’ve included the cut file so you can make one too! You’ll find the .SVG and .studio3 files at the end of this post – enjoy!

I started by cutting the mini album from smooth white cardstock and folded it up accordion style.

Next, I cut the inner heart pieces from patterned papers. There are 12 hearts and I used 12 different patterns. I actually only used one piece of patterned paper to do this, Paper 19 from my Whimsical collection with Pink Paislee which has a whole bunch of rectangles of different patterns – perfect for punching and die cutting little shapes like hearts! So I die cut the patterned paper hearts and then adhered them into the mini album.

I then went through all of the photos on my computer and found a photo of me and my husband from all 11 years we’ve been married. I used Adobe Photoshop to make the pictures about .75″ square and then printed them at home on my Canon Pro 100 printer. I adhered the photos in place. There are 12 hearts and 11 photos so I left the cover without a photo.

On the cover, I added mini number and alphabet stickers to create the title “11 years love”. I tucked a sticker border and heart border sticker underneath then machine stitched across them – I actually took off the patterned paper heart first to run it through my sewing machine so it wouldn’t stitch through both sides of the mini album. The album is kept closed with a cute little binder clip.

Then I went through and embellished each heart one by one. Since the hearts are so small there isn’t much space to add a whole lot! I relied on tiny puffy stickers, tiny paper stickers, tiny chipboard stickers, and enamel dots, all from my Whimsical collection. Honestly, I think it took me an hour to make this album from start to finish – it’s a quick, fun project!

Even though some of the embellishments have dimension to them, the album still folds up nicely and isn’t too chunky to keep it from closing.

I added a number sticker to each heart with a photo to represent that year of marriage, 1 – 11. It’s fun to see how we’ve aged, gained weight, lost weight, had babies, traveled, etc!

I hope you are inspired to use this cut file to create a little mini album celebrating love this Valentine’s Day! It doesn’t take long to make and the results are so cute! I can’t wait to give this to my husband as a gift and tell him how excited I am for our future!

Here is today’s cut file…
