One year they gave my twin sister and I a surprise party. When i walked in, I yelled shut up!!

  11. Rebecca Yahrling April 10, 2015 at 9:43 am

I have to say my 50th party last year was my fondest. It’s a big number and just reminds you that time goes by fast. My sister made it special by giving me a handmade chocolate chip cookie with 50 chips in it; 50 pennies; and a $50. gift card. We don’t usually spend that much at all, so it made turning 50 great!

  12. Indy April 10, 2015 at 9:44 am

I will never forget when my hubby decorated my car for my 30th birthday. Students and coworkers kept wishing me a happy birthday. I had no idea how they knew it was my birthday. Then after work I walked outside and saw my car. It was a fun day!

I love a well executed surprise birthday….and my birthday last year was just that. Well done, sweet husband!

  17. Regina Furman April 10, 2015 at 10:03 am

Well, it wasn’t my birthday, but my sister got a brand new two wheeler for hers. It had training wheels, a banana seat and tassels on the handlebars. When she was at school the following Monday I learned how to ride her bike(before she did). Boy was she mad!!

  18. Cindy April 10, 2015 at 10:07 am

My favorite memory..my 50th! Hubby planned a surprise party. This was an awesome gift in itself but the most cherished….he put together a scrapbook of my childhood to present day.
He did this by himself! He paper scrapped and digi scrapped. It took him almost a year to do! This is a guy who is in the building profession not the scrapbook world! Looking at it and seeing the hard work and thought he put into still makes me cry…happy tears of course!

  19. RPomeroy April 10, 2015 at 10:08 am

The birthday party when my mom gave everyone sugar cookie dough and let create to our hearts content or the time I thought everyone had forgotten and they were all waiting for me to come home for a surprise party. Both bring back great feelings of love and friendship.

  20. Janet Cobb April 10, 2015 at 10:09 am

I don’t have a particular favorite birthday memory. But I do have one that will always stay in my memories. On my birthday, 2/20/2006, my husband was rushed to the ER from work with stroke symptoms. That and another incident two weeks later led to a diagnosis of a terminal malignant brain tumor on his birthday, 5/25/2006. I lost him on 11/24/2011-Thanksgiving Day. So even though my birthdays are always special, another day gifted from God, that birthday will always be a sad memory.

So happy to see Echo Park and Carta Bella joining SCT!! Echo Park has been my absolute fave ever since they came on the paper-crafting scene! I have a birthday coming up in early May, and I remember my 50th….hubby proclaimed it to the whole community on a big industrial sign! At least it wasn’t bra’s and panties!!

  22. Sandy Carveth April 10, 2015 at 10:19 am

My favorite birthdays are the ones that I’m with family. That’s more special to me than gifts. I love it when my husband takes me out to eat and we have a nice evening out. He’s my best gift that I’ve ever had!

  23. bette April 10, 2015 at 10:19 am

My Favorite BD memory was getting my new bike. It was bigger than me and it took awhile to get big enough to really ride it well, but I had it into adulthood! Then passed it to another young lady and it served her well. “)

Celebrating my birthday on Mother’s Day the year I became a mom was pretty special!

  25. barbara macaskill April 10, 2015 at 10:25 am

My favorite Birthday was the year my husband, who NEVER does gifts, treated me to a weekend away for a Bingo and gambling trip to Foxwoods Casino! He planned everything and I had an amazing time and even won BIG! I was the happiest gal in the world and felt so loved!

  26. Judy Stiles April 10, 2015 at 10:26 am

I am so excited that Echo Park has finally come aboard! I love that the top Birthday Wishes collection is traditional colours but tweaked to make it feel fresh. Beautiful!
It’s hard to pick one favorite birthday, but one of the most memorable was in junior high when I thought all my friends had forgotten my birthday but they had schemed with my mom to surprise me with a birthday dinner out! I was absolutely shocked!

  30. Bevb April 10, 2015 at 10:41 am

All birthdays are special and getting together with family is the best present ever. We now celebrate with our little grandchildren and see just how much more goes into birthdays these day. Would just love to win this Birthday Wishes Collection from Echo Park, oh the cards I could create with it. So beautiful. Welcome Echo Park and Carta Bella you have come to the right place!

  31. Amy M. C. April 10, 2015 at 10:59 am

All my birthdays are special! Time with loved ones is the most important.

  32. Laura Turcotte April 10, 2015 at 11:07 am

My fave birthday has got to be when my boys were old enough to make me a homemade birthday card with their writing on it…

  33. Tammi Boonstoppel April 10, 2015 at 11:07 am

My favorite birthday memory was the year a gentleman from our church brought me a whole trunk full of gladiolus for my birthday! I had vases everywhere full of beautiful flowers, 3 days later my middle daughter was born and I missed the flowers so he brought me a bunch more new ones to enjoy! I felt very special!

  34. diana April 10, 2015 at 11:07 am

Birthdays always meant family and cake! 😉

  35. Debbie Lou April 10, 2015 at 11:17 am

One of my favorite birthday memories is when our 5 children made me a birthday greeting which said Happy Birthday Mom out of their erector set! Precious!

  36. Angelika Ushakova April 10, 2015 at 11:18 am

My favourite birthday was my Alice in Wonderland themed 23rd birthday party… I had so much fun planning it with my friends and I even had out of town guests come all the way just to see me for my birthday.

  37. Marilyn E April 10, 2015 at 11:26 am

The birthday giveaway is amazing! I have many favorite birthdays, but probably there are two…when I was 6 my Dad bought me an ice cream maker and he and I stayed up forever making ice cream. It was fun and very messy!
When I turned 50 my husband had a surprise party for me. Since I live several hours from my family, my husband had my closest friends and family from here and far away come. It was a girl’s night and everyone spent the night (except for him, he stayed at a motel). He stocked the house with food and wine, hired a girl to do the party, decorate and brought along a massage therapist! It was such a surprise and so much fun! The biggest surprise, he is not one to do something like this, made it even more special!

  38. lisa808 April 10, 2015 at 11:27 am

My favorite birthday memory is my 8th birthday when I got my lavendar bike with a flowered banana seat and handlebar tassels (yes, I guess I am dating myself!).
I {heart} EP! Thanks for the prize chance.

  39. Jena Baker April 10, 2015 at 11:32 am

One of my best birthday memories was the surprise party my parents threw for me on my 17th birthday. It was on a Saturday and they had all of my friends and boyfriend come over to my house early in the morning. I was still in bed sleeping and all of them snuck into my room with a candle lit cake singing happy birthday. I was so surprised when I woke up I did not know what to do!

  40. Chistine Kiehl April 10, 2015 at 11:33 am

Nothing starts Friday better than a giveaway! Thank you for always giving away the goodies!

  41. Peggy Sobey April 10, 2015 at 11:39 am

Birthday memories.. So many but I’m going to tell you about this year. On the actual day I was housebound due to a snowstorm! But I had dinner out with a friend a couple of days before and, then a couple of days after, I went to card-making class and was surprised with a little celebration afterwards! Nothing like extending the fun! Scrapbookers and card makers are a great bunch of people.

  42. Tami B April 10, 2015 at 11:41 am

When you’re as old as I am, it is very hard to come up with one favorite birthday memory. I will be looking for the Birthday Wishes Girl papers in my local store for sure.

  43. Chris Baker Cox April 10, 2015 at 11:41 am

My favorite birthday memories are the sleepovers I used to have with my friends. My mom made homemade pizza which was delicious, and she always made a 4 layer chocolate/yellow cake with “3 Musketeer” frosting between the layers and chocolate frosting on the outside…TO DIE FOR! So much fun!!

  44. Valerie W April 10, 2015 at 11:43 am

My favourite memory is being with my family on my birthday.

  45. susanM April 10, 2015 at 11:49 am

For my 50th BD, my husband took me to France. We celebrated my “day” in a local restauant in a tiny town in Languedoc region. Loved the dinner wine so much, we tracked down the winery and brought some bottles home.

  46. Debby MacLean April 10, 2015 at 11:51 am

Welcome Echo Park and Carta Bella – I love scrapbooking with your paper and embellies.
My favorite birthday party would have to be when I turned 40….it seemed it was a party for a week and I just felt so special by my husband and two boys and also my friends. One of the things my husband did for me was he hired a “singing telegram” to come to my work – that was my first time I ever got one of those and I so enjoyed it along with my co-workers. Thanks Echo Park – have a great day!

  47. Sharon P. April 10, 2015 at 12:09 pm

It is lovely to read some of the comments, especially the one from Cindy in which her husband gave her a scrapbook that he made!
Just wonderful! My favourite birthdays are always the ones in which my family makes me a a home cook meal with a cake! Those are always more special to me then being taken to a restaurant.

  48. Terri Damgaard April 10, 2015 at 1:17 pm

Every year my family makes me feel special on my birthday. Love the Echo Park giveaway!

One of my favorite childhood birthday memories from many years ago, is going “down town” with my Dad and my twin sister to pick out our own birthday gifts. One of us got a toy kitchen stove and the other got a toy kitchen sink. I can’t remember now which one of us got the stove and which one got the sink. I just remember that we thought it was a big deal to ride the bus downtown go shopping with our Daddy.

I love the quality of Echo Park and Carta Bella patterned paper. Some of the best. One birthday I was in the hospital pregnant with my twin boys, they were born two days after my birthday, almost 16 years ago. Thanks very much for a chance to win. Michelle t

and all but about 4 members

    He doesn’t smile really big
much, but he had a huge smile

    entire party! Loved the gifts
    we all gave him.

I had a surprise birthday for my sweet 16 and u got a car, but my favorite birthday has to be my last one. I turned 30 and got to spend it with all my favorite people in Leavenworth, Wa celebrating Oktoberfest.

  55. EnchantmentsWanderer April 10, 2015 at 2:21 pm

Only the most joyless. November 2014. When my family could not come to me for my birthday because of military actions in Donetsk.

  56. Karen Sullivan April 10, 2015 at 2:27 pm

Birthdays were always a special day at home….you got presents, friends over to visit, cake and usually got your favorite meal. on the other hand my birthday is in February so I often got rubber boots or clothing I needed for spring…still great memories.

  57. Jeannean M April 10, 2015 at 2:34 pm

One of my favorite birthday memories is the year I had my birthday at a friends house. Her mom made a special cake that was a doll. The dress was a cake and it was decorated up beautifully! Thanks for helping to remind me of this good time, and for a chance to win this fun prize!

  58. C.D. April 10, 2015 at 2:37 pm

My 15th birthday was a special one because that was when I finally got a piano! Still not good at it but I love to play!

  59. Diane April 10, 2015 at 2:39 pm

I am so glad that Echo Park has joined SCT! This isn’t my “favorite” birthday but it is memorable. For my thirteenth birthday I was supposed to have friends stay for a sleepover. One of the girls had a bike with a banana seat. We went for a ride, doubled up with me in front, and wiped out. No sleepover, I spent the evening in the ER! (And I spent the next few weeks trying to hide from everyone as my face was a mess.)

  60. Veronica April 10, 2015 at 2:39 pm

My favorite Birthday was a surprise birthday meal after becoming cancer free. It was a dual celebration. A celebration it was!!!

  61. Maryellen Webber April 10, 2015 at 2:41 pm

I love Echo Park. My favorite birthday memory is when my entire family took me to an amusement park for my special day. I had a great time with my family.

  62. SandraA April 10, 2015 at 2:56 pm

I grew up in a large, poverty-stricken family. Since there was no money for parties, we never celebrated that way. It was singing happy birthday at dinner time. One year, my mother called me in from playing outside and presented me with a cupcake, chips, and a soda. BIG treat! She said I had to keep it a secret because I was the only one getting it. I felt very special that day.

  63. Carol B April 10, 2015 at 3:09 pm

Since my birthday is on Christmas day I have many fond memories of family time together.

  67. Helen Van Daalen April 10, 2015 at 3:50 pm

My mom’s made from scratch birthday cake. Every year she would make the cake and I was allowed to decorate it with smarties. I learned how to make the cake and make it for my son and I let him decorate with smarties. Carrying on the tradition.

  68. Jenny Kozar April 10, 2015 at 4:30 pm

I received a Julia doll for my 6th birthday — it was awesome!!
Love Carta Bella and Echo Park so glad they have joined in the fun!

  69. Gina April 10, 2015 at 4:36 pm

So bummed I didn’t win the Type class but I’ll try again! My favorite birthday “memory” – in quotes because it’s from a home movie is of me at 2 years old trying to blow out the candles that wouldn’t blow out. The look on my face when they come back is awesome!

  70. Karen Lingel April 10, 2015 at 4:41 pm

OOOh, I can always use MORE birthday paper! Thanks for the opportunity to win. My favorite birthday memory is also my earliest memory: For my 3rd birthday I had a beautiful pink cake decorated like a carousel. I marveled at the amazing coincidence that I was 3 years old and there were 3 horses on the cake. (Yeah, I now realize it wasn’t a coincidence, but as a kid, it was magical!)

  71. Janice April 10, 2015 at 4:48 pm

Sharing my birthday with all of Canada when it falls on Thanksgiving Day!

  72. Ali M. April 10, 2015 at 4:52 pm

  73. Elizabeth D Lumsden April 10, 2015 at 4:53 pm

For my 60th my sister invited my children and their loved ones to her house for a surprise party for me. I had just moved back to Texas from AZ and we hadn’t all been together for awhile so it was a great time!!!!

  74. Angele James April 10, 2015 at 6:14 pm

I have to say that my favorite birthday memory happened this past February, when I turned 50. My mother has a corner cabinet made by my great-grandfather, which I have admired and loved for years. For my birthday my husband bought me my very own corner cabinet. The weekend before he placed a birthday card and silk flowers inside of it. On my birthday he and our 13 year old son brought me to the store and surprised me with the purchase. The cabinet will hold many of my scrapbooks and photo albums.

  75. Tona April 10, 2015 at 6:16 pm

My favorite birthday memory was when a year & half ago when I opened my email to see a picture of my 4 month old grandson sitting propped up on the couch holding a sign that said, Happy Birthday Grandma. We live in different states so it just made my day to see that sweet face wishing me a happy birthday 1st thing in the morning.

  76. Nancy Wilcox April 10, 2015 at 6:46 pm

I just love birthdays in general and can’t think of one that stands out more than any others. Echo Park always has lovely papers.

  77. Marge G. April 10, 2015 at 6:55 pm

One of my favorite birthday memories was my 50th birthday party surprise! I couldn’t believe my friends put one over on me (it’s usually me that puts it over on them!).

  78. Judy April 10, 2015 at 6:57 pm

Love that Echo Park and Carta Bella are part of SCT. My favorite birthday was when my sisters and niece made a big 40 sign for my yard. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  79. Memoriesbymanda April 10, 2015 at 6:57 pm

My favourite birthday was my 40th last year. I went with a few friends and my family to Sky Tower revolving restaurant in Auckland New Zealand. Fab food, spectacular views ( sunset and night sky) and fantastic friends. The only issue was trying to figure out your way back to the table after a trip to the loo as the restaurant revolves!

  80. Cheri Burry April 10, 2015 at 7:02 pm

My Hubby always takes me to The Keg for a wonderful steak dinner, something I always look forward to!

  81. Cara Feeney April 10, 2015 at 7:28 pm

My best birthday memory was the one when my fellow soldiers got me a cake for my birthday. It was the only time in 14 years that I got one!

  82. Cathi Carpenter April 10, 2015 at 8:06 pm

My favorite birthday? Hmmmm… Possibly my 25th. My boyfriend, at that time, thru me a surprise party with all my friends and family. We did not end up staying a couple, but I always thought how wonderful it was to have a party thrown for me!

  83. Lorraine Melin April 10, 2015 at 8:19 pm

One of my favorite birthday memories is from way back in elementary school. My sister and I had birthdays 2 days apart, so we celebrated together, each getting to have a friend stay over. What fun we had! I would love to create special memories with these Echo Park lines!

  84. Betty-Ann April 10, 2015 at 8:36 pm

Snow storm and school cancelled…love my January birthday!

  85. Pat Sakrismo April 10, 2015 at 8:47 pm

When my family planned a surprise 40th birthday party with lots of family & friends. Great memories! Love the paper – will be great for grandchildren birthday pictures!

  86. Robin B. April 10, 2015 at 8:57 pm

My favorite birthday memory isn’t one of mine but when my twins turned one. They are such a blessing, it took us two years to get pregnant and then we were blessed with two!

  87. Violet April 10, 2015 at 9:06 pm

Love the birthday collection! I have 3 daughters, all married, and 5 grandchildren so we go through a lot of birthday paper.

  88. Manda April 10, 2015 at 9:34 pm

My favourite birthday memory is that of the birth of my daughters – their birth-days, not mine!

  89. Michelle B April 10, 2015 at 10:01 pm

Welcome Echo Park and Carta Bella!!
Thanks Echo Park for the opportunity to win these two wonderful collections!
    🙂

My biggest birthday surprise was for my 40th birthday. My husband wanted to throw a big party but I wanted to keep things small. Well, the reason he wanted a big to-do was that he was surprising me with a birthday cruise just for the two of us!! We hadn’t been on a vacation alone together since my son had been born 10 years earlier! He made me feel so very special – it was a great birthday. 🙂

  91. Nina Oelke April 10, 2015 at 10:46 pm

My favorite birthday memory is when I turned 60. I had never had a birthday party in my life. Every year in August my family(kids and grandkids) and my two sisters and their families rent cottages near North Bay. My birthday is also in August. The second day we were there, my daughter told me we were having potluck in the outside rec hall. I kept saying no way, we only do that on Friday. In fact I was quite indignant about it. She made me go on up to the rec hall anyway and to my surprise everyone was already there and shouted Happy Birthday. My one daughter and both of my sisters worked together and made a Scrapbook for me of my life. I was so deeply moved. Then we spent the afternoon playing Minute to Win it. It was the best birthday ever.

  92. Kailash April 10, 2015 at 10:53 pm

My happiest birthday memory was when my hubby treated me on a vacation to one of my favorite places, Nova Scotia. Such special memories!!!

  93. Janet Sisk April 10, 2015 at 10:56 pm

My fave birthday memory was my 10th birthday. My dad took a bunch of my friends and I to the movies. It was a big deal because my mom had just died 3 weeks earlier and he had to plan it all by himself. Thanks for a chance to win. 😀

  94. SNAZZY JJ April 10, 2015 at 11:07 pm

  96. Kelsey White April 10, 2015 at 11:40 pm

My favorite birthday memory is my 11th birthday when my dad bought me my bow. I was so excited to finally have on of my own and practiced shooting arrows with it out by the barn every day. 🙂 It was great!

  97. Leanne S April 10, 2015 at 11:48 pm

My favorite was my surprise birthday party.

  98. judy April 11, 2015 at 12:04 am

Many years ago, I was traumatized by the fact that I was about to turn 40. SO, to help me get over it, I threw myself an “over the hill” party. Looking back on those younger days, I wonder where the years have gone. Oh to be 40 again.

  99. Mai April 11, 2015 at 1:13 am

Fun collection! One of my favorite birthday memories is one of my earliest memories when my twin sister and I turned three and got our first tricycles and “hid” on the stairs with our friends and ate marshmallows. Simple pleasures! Thanks for the chance!

  100. Lynne in NI April 11, 2015 at 4:35 am

  105. Dana April 11, 2015 at 10:12 am

Such cute paper sets! My favorite birthday memory was actually a party we had for my Dad’s 70th. My Dad has been fighting cancer and we weren’t sure he would make 70. So we threw a great 50’s theme party for 80 guests outside on a deck overlooking a lake. Paper straws, turquoise and red, buntings, photo booth 50s music….I loved being able to create such great memories for my family

  106. Scrappin' Diva - Cindy B April 11, 2015 at 11:01 am

  108. Pam Kubala April 11, 2015 at 3:56 pm

Welcome Echo Park and thanks for your offering of a gorgeous prize. If I think of my childhood, I recall a birthday when I was really excited. I was in grade 5 or 6, and was at a friend’s party. Mom’s used to wrap nickels in wax paper and put one under each piece of cake. One year I got a quarter. I was so excited! I wonder what the equivalant of 25 cents is today? Maybe $10.00?!

  109. Beth Anne Thomas April 11, 2015 at 5:03 pm

My first birthday party – I was seven and had angel food cake instead of the chocolate that my dad and brother always insisted upon!

  110. Marie M April 11, 2015 at 5:24 pm

Favorite birthday memory: 16th birthday, school dance, brand new jacket and a surprise party thrown by my boyfriend (husband of almost 38 years)!

  111. Carey Nusbaum April 11, 2015 at 5:39 pm

My daughter was born two weeks after my 28th birthday! That was the best birthday gift of all, but my husband surprised me with a mother/daughter cameo pendant with her birth info engraved on the back when he brought us home from the hospital! I cherish that cameo, as well as the memory of her birth! I am so blessed!

  112. Kristen April 11, 2015 at 5:56 pm

Walking iinto a surprise party for my 40th!

  113. KellyL April 11, 2015 at 6:12 pm

I don’t really have a favorite birthday memory – but I love getting to spend them with my grandsons!

  114. Tammy Lever April 11, 2015 at 6:27 pm

A great prize pack! My favorite memory was from my 30th birthday. I had been relocated to a city about 2 hrs from where I used to live for work. I didn’t know anyone and I really missed all my friends. I was feeling down about celebrating a milestone without any of my friends with me. My BFF organized a suprise birthday party for me at the club close to my house and several of my friends came up for the party and stayed over night. It was like a big sleep over. #hasthebestfriendsever

  115. teri April 11, 2015 at 8:57 pm

    Best birthday ever…skydiving!

  116. Brenda April 11, 2015 at 11:18 pm

I LOVE Echo Park and Carta Bella – so happy to have them be part of Scrapbook & Cards Today! I think one of my favorite birthdays was last year when my hubby and I spent an entire day together driving up to pick up our middle child from college! Having an entire day with my hubby and no chores was terrific and then to be able to bring our boy home for the summer was the icing on the cake. 🙂

  117. Amber M. April 11, 2015 at 11:39 pm

My favourite birthday memory is from when I turned 40. I don’t normally like a lot of attention, but I decided to embrace 40 and bask in the glory (hey, that rhymes ;-). My colleagues at work spoiled me with 40 days of gifts and a party at the end, and my favourite threw a surprise party and did all sorts of fun things and gave me a scrapbook album. Overall, it is a very happy memory for me and even more so because one of my sisters (who I was super close to) passed away just a few months later. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

  118. Jenelle Reyes April 12, 2015 at 3:15 am

Wow! The Echo Park birthday collection is wonderful! One of the most memorable birthdays that I’ve had was when I was taken by my sister blind-folded on a trip. She wouldn’t tell me where we were going. After a long drive we ended up in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts! And unbeknownst to me my best friend was in the car the whole time! We had a wonderful picnic in the park!

  119. Meih Ang April 12, 2015 at 3:18 am

My parent’s drove me to Michael’s for my birthday without telling me and told me to buy my scrapbook supplies when we got there, when i went in Michael’s i had butterflies in my stomach

  133. Carrie Sedlack April 12, 2015 at 10:12 am

  134. Mary Holshouser April 12, 2015 at 10:26 am

When I turned 50 I thought I was hitting a wall. My daughter didn’t know that and arranged a surprise birthday party for me.
Bob and I had been camping all weekend and I didn’t bother to clean up before we headed home as I needed to do some cleaning around the house when we got there. Imagine my shock when all of these people were there with wonderful gifts, great food, and so much fun.
I felt grungy but thoroughly enjoyed the party. I got over the feeling of doom at turning 50. I’m way part that one now and still going strong.

  135. DinTurner April 12, 2015 at 10:52 am

Love Echo Park! Favorite memory was a couple of year ago when my kids and husband brought me to a baseball game.

  136. Sarah April 12, 2015 at 11:15 am

The best birthday surprise was back in highschool when none of my friends seemed to be around for my birthday – even my boyfriend at the time was going for his dad’s custody weekend. I was pretty bummed, but my best friend promised we’d have a good time at her house. Singing in her bedroom at the top of our lungs, all of my friends arrived and sat down the hall in the living room. Once they were all there, her mom called us into the kitchen. It turned out to be one of the sweetest highschool memories for me…and I got a Sundin jersey from my parents. The ultimate gift for me at the time.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I was 16 with no plans for anything.. some friends showed up to just “hang out” at the house.. but then there was a knock at the door.. and the guy I was crushing on.. one of my gang.. brought me a single rose, wished me happy birthday and left. I’m not sure if someone put him up to it .. and I don’t care. It was sweet.. and that’s what you want when you’re 16!!!

  145. Cheryl parker April 12, 2015 at 4:20 pm

  148. Lynne G April 12, 2015 at 8:02 pm

I remember when we used to have “money cakes”. Your Mom would bake a quarter into the cake and then you eager ate your piece, hoping to get a little bit richer!!! Probably not so healthy and safe, but oh so much fun!!!!!!!

  149. Sandy Clinton April 12, 2015 at 8:52 pm

I’m too old to remember birthdays, though my 50th was a lot of fun! (The surprise dinner with everybody at the Mandarin, not the surprise dirty toy party at Fay Jeffcoate ‘ s house) And I totally need to win, Catherine Tachdijian, because I didn’t buy enough at Scrapfest!

  157. Dorina D April 13, 2015 at 5:42 pm

Favorite birthday memory. Guess it would have to be my surprise 40th birthday WAKE held at the family cemetery to celebrate the “Loss of Youth” complete with a Eulogist, singer and the Grim Reaper. Of course the funniest comment came from the 12 yr old niece. “Poor aunt Dee, Old as dirt!” When I finally scrapped it, all the pics and journaling is in the shape of a coffin or a headstone. Best party ever. Even the triple chocolate cake was in the shape of a coffin with gummy worms coming out of the cake. My family has a wicked sense of humor and everyone thougth it was absolutely fabulous party or it was worst idea ever. We loved it and had a blast. Love Birthday Wishes (boy) and it could sure be put to use now that we have 3 nephews in the family to go along with the 12 nieces and cousins.

  166. Jody M. April 14, 2015 at 4:41 pm

Welcome Echo Park to SCT! I can remember so many great birthdays, it’s hard to pinpoint one. I know I cried sentimently when one of my daughters got me flowers with her babysitting money. It must have cost her 2 weeks wages! I cried with tears of joy!

My favorite birthday memories would be swimming with my friends and family while celebrating my summer birthday in our yard.

My favorite birthday memory is the one where we presented out 8 year old son with a miniature pincher black and tan puppy. I was able to capture the expression on his face in a photo snapshot as his dad carried the puppy to him. Thanks for your leadership and support within our industry.
    Appreciated.

One birthday i remember from childhood my parents called into the radio and asked them to wish me a happy birthday and tell me to look under my parents bed for my gift. I didnt believe my gift was there and didnt know how the radio lady would know that it was my birthday.

Do you remember when McDonald’s used to have the Caboose outside their restaurants? I remember having my birthday party there when I was 6 and I was so so proud to get to wear the blue birthday hat that McDonald’s provided to the guest of honor, while everyone else had the white, yellow and brown ones! 37 years ago in June…

I will never forget my 25th birthday which was also my golden birthday because it falls on January 25th. I kept asking my husband what we were doing and he said oh we will just have a quiet night at home with dinner and cake just the three of us (my son was 3 at the time). I said ok but was a little disappointed on the inside because I kinda wanted a party or at least go out. Well my birthday day rolls around and sure enough he said we were staying home and I was like ok. Well later that day he said hey I need to go next door (our best friends lived right next to us) because they need some help putting some furniture together. I stayed back because our son was sleeping. Well later he comes home and said you know what I’m too exhausted to cook lets go pick something up and bring it home and I said ok. He also mentioned our friends coming. I said ok well I went over to go get them and little did I know that he had planned a huge surprise party with all of our closest friends! It was the best surprise ever! I was highly impressed because typically it’s really hard to get anything past me (:

My favorite birthday memory was when my husband took me to a surprise dinner date in downtown Los Angeles where we ate at a cool Mexican restaurant and watched a Mariachi show. He even got the waiters to sing to me and they gave me a small cake. He was so sweet to set it all up for me.

My favorite birthday memory would be the year I thought I was 36 when I really turned 37. Though I was shocked, it was hilarious! I had the best birthday cake -a rainbow cheesecake that my teenage daughter made.

  216. Jamie larsen April 15, 2015 at 2:21 pm

My fav bday memory was my first birthday with both of my girls.. My husband took us to the beach and we had a great time even though our youngest was only 2 weeks old

  217. Amy Pace April 15, 2015 at 4:14 pm

My favorite memory would have to be my most recent birthday…turning 50 and my husband and 2 teenage sons totally surprised me with a girlie get-together with girlfriends from the past 25 years. It was a blessing to have time with them and share in the gift of their friendship. And kudos to my hubby for keeping it a secret! 🙂

What I remember is that what my mom always said first to me, even before congrats. Those words ment so much for me even more now she passed away. luckely my youngest son has taken her place. It has to do with my twinsister who dies after 7 days after birth.

My favorite birthday memory is actually for my twin daughters. They were in the 6th grade and the entire 6th grade class 132 students were going to do this 20 mile bicycle ride from Portland Oregon to Vancouver Washington. I am a single mom and they didn’t have bikes. They were really depressed about not taking part in the ride. So their Birthday came and they saw two cards on the kitchen table thinking that was all they were getting. (we’d had a few tight years)They had their party with friends and after all the gifts were unwrapped from friends and family they turned to the cards. Before opening the envelopes they hugged me and said thank you for the party and said they loved me. As they opened the envelopes my mom pulled the blinds on the patio doors to show them the bikes I’d saved for. They were screaming and jumping and going crazy! Best birthday ever!!!

One of my favorite birthday memories was last year, I turned 50; and my three sisters from CO & TX surprised me with a visit. They just showed up out of the blue, one minute I was doing laundry and the next I was hugging the best sisters a girl could ever want. So blessed, they are not only my sisters but my best friends. It was a great birthday!!

  225. Liz McAllister April 16, 2015 at 10:35 am

My birthday always seems to go a little awry. My husband and daughter seem to be out of town every time, so I get to spend the day as I like! Still they are good days!

  226. Carmen N April 16, 2015 at 12:36 pm

My favorite birthday was the year I turned 21. My birthday falls on a date that most people aren’t available so I went out with my family that night. But I also received a dozen roses from a gentleman … who eventually became my husband (19 years ago 🙂

I LOVE Echo Park and Carta Bella and birthday creations are my favourite!
For our family, the big party is on the 40th birthday. The highlight of the event is the putting together of a scrapbook. Pictures are taken during the event and everyone attending writes a message to the party person. All the pieces are put together for wonderful memories!

  230. Marylinn Kelly April 16, 2015 at 4:18 pm

Birthday memory, would have been age 4, my parents had the radio on (it was 1949), a children’s program and the host, whose name I have forgotten, said my name and told me where to look for a hidden present. I know there are many others, but this stands out. Nice giveaway, thank you. Such cheerful colors and patterns.

My favorite birthday memory is from some 20 years back when my best friends painted a graffity on a wall of my building. We had to turn around and paint the wall back to its original color. We kind of got in trouble. That was a creative way to say happy Birthday to me!
