Greetings from Denver! I'm happy to be a part of this International Day of Scrapbooking celebration on the SCT blog. I used the last sketch from the Spring 2014 PageMaps Sketches (found HERE on the website) for my layout today. I also used the beautiful Cocoa Daisy May kit, Here I Am (which is on sale HERE), and some fantastic Maya Road products as well.
Here are a few tips for you:
1. I love working with vellum, but it's kind of tricky to attach. I've found the best way to do that is with a sewing machine stitch. I don't feel the need to attach it on all four corners either.
2. I used my Tiny Attacher to staple the photo to the frame, but the grey staples were standing out, so I painted them with some gold metallic paint. Only at the right angle can you really see the paint, so it hides the grey well!
3. Don't forget that with the great Maya Road alterable products, you can use a wide variety of products to color them. I used three different mediums on this layout: chalk ink, spray ink, and paint. You get a slightly different look with each product.
Keep having fun, today is your day to celebrate this awesome hobby!
4:00 p.m. Giveaway!
What could be better this hour than two kits? I can't think of much! Our friends at Cocoa Daisy and Maya Road each recently released these fabulous kits and since they are often full of some of the newest product available and great exclusives, we readily accepted these prizes to share with you today! Here is a peek at the May Kit "Here I Am" from Cocoa Daisy…
"You are standing at the corner of happiness and versatility. If you could pinpoint this location on a map, we think it would look a lot like our May kit, Here I Am. We've searched out and gathered reds, golds, creams, greys, and the loveliest shades of blue, both turquoises and steels. We've tracked down gold metallics and mixed them with the earthy naturals of kraft, wood, and chipboard. We've uncovered exclusives, and even met the specifications for either soft or graphic designs by including circles and dots, flowers, geometric shapes, and hand drawn images." ~ Cocoa Daisy
A beautiful kit that comes beautifully packaged in a beautiful box with a big flower on it! Anyone interested?
