Welcome to our Fall Issue Challenge Week here on the SCT blog!

Today we’re so excited to kick off a week of inspiration and creativity, led by our amazing design team! It’s all leading up to one big event: the release of our fall issue on Friday, September 17th! We hope you’ll celebrate with us this week and create something new for the chance to win a fantastic prize! First, we’re starting off this week sharp—with a cut file and Erica Thompson. Let’s see what Erica has to share with us today!

Hello, Scrapbook & Cards Today friends! It’s Erica here with you today with a cut file challenge—one I hope you will love! This free cut file designed by the talented Paige Evans is going to be perfect to document all of your back-to-school photos!

Supplies | Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper, letter stickers, shape stickers; Pinkfresh Studio, Cut File: Scrapbook & Cards Today by Paige Evans; Die cutting machine: Silhouette Cameo; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I wanted to create a back-to-school layout with a fall feel to it and this beautiful collection from Pinkfresh Studio was perfect!

I cut out the backpack cut file from American Crafts Textured White Cardstock. This is my go-to cardstock when cutting out files on my Silhouette Cameo. This file was a lot of fun to back with different pattern papers from the The Best Day 6 x 6 inch paper pad from Pinkfresh Studio.

Using a large image cut file like this takes up a lot of room on the page and really helps make a page stand out. Once the cut file was backed I knew I wanted to add a lot of the pretty florals from the collection to soften up the page. I fussy cut additional florals from the patterned paper to use around the layout. Fussy cutting images from cut-aparts or the patterned paper will help stretch your supplies and give you extra elements to use. I do not do a lot of pocket page scrapbooking, so I will use elements on a cut apart sheet as die cuts.

We cannot wait to see what you create with this adorable backpack cut file! Please remember to share your project and tag us on social media! Thanks so much for stopping by the SCT blog today and enjoy the rest of your day!
