Hello SCT scrappers! I hope you’re enjoying the Fall Issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today! I have been SO inspired by the contents and loved seeing all the gorgeous autumn projects. I especially loved the 3Ts article focusing on all the different sources of inspiration around us. The layout by Erica Thompson on page 22 caught my eye immediately! She was inspired to use a floral wreath as inspiration for a layout, and the result was a stunning layered border that I wanted to replicate on the page that I’m sharing with you today!

Supplies | Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned paper: Simple Stories Cozy Days, Jen Hadfield The Avenue, Crate Paper Marigold; Stickers: American Crafts, Simple Stories; Cut files: Lisa Dickinson; Die cutting machine: Silhouette Cameo; Pen: American Crafts; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To create my wreath border, I die-cut several leaf shapes from patterned papers that coordinated with the colors in the photo. I used a pencil to trace a plate onto my cardstock to give me a general shape to follow, then I arranged the pieces along that line, overlapping them much like an actual wreath. Adhering them with foam adhesive helps give even more dimension to the border.

Along with my photo, a simple title of puffy and letter stickers resides inside the wreath. I love to mix script fonts with simpler fonts—like this sans serif—to keep the title interesting!

As a finishing touch, I added some butterfly stickers to the wreath, as well as puffy gold hearts around the outer edges. I love the textural border that resulted. It’s the perfect frame for my pretty photo!

If you haven’t made time to peruse the latest issue, go grab a pumpkin spice latte and curl up with it! You’re sure to find inspiration for autumn creating (and we’d love to see what you make!)
