One of the best ways to document dad is not only all of the things we love about him, but the way he interacts and loves the people around us! That’s what Becki Adams did on the layout that she’s sharing today, and she is using a collection that you may not have envisioned for Father’s Day! Let’s find out which one it is!

Hello, Scrapbook & Cards Today friends! It’s Becki here to share a Father’s themed layout that I created with the Cap and Gown collection from Bella Blvd. I’ve been looking forward to this collection’s release for weeks because my daughter not only recently graduated from high school, she also graduated from college as well! As you can imagine, we’re very proud of her! I was SO excited to scrapbook this sweet photo of my daughter and her dad!

Supplies | Bella Blvd Cap and Gown collection: patterned paper, chipboard, die cuts, letter stickers, puffy stickers, stickers, letter stickers; Scrapbook.com: tape runner; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: foam adhesive; sewing machine; black thread; Font: American Typewriter

The white text patterned paper is my favorite paper in this collection! I knew I wanted to use it on this layout. It’s a busy patterned paper and I didn’t want to overwhelm the design by using it as my background, so I combined it with the black grid patterned paper. To finish the background, I added a couple of strips of striped patterned paper.

Because this collection is primarily black and white, making my photo the center of attention was easy! The colors pop against the black and white background and embellishments.

The Cap and Gown collection is full of stars! I usually shy away from stars but I decided to embrace them on this layout. I’m so glad that I did. They’re such a great shape to emphasize a celebration! I used stars around my embellishment clusters on the top left corner of the photo and the bottom right corner of the layout.

I wanted this layout to be about my husband and my daughter so I created the title “proud dad” with die cuts and puffy letter stickers. Customizing a title with a combination of products is so fun! I love making a title that catches the reader’s attention and introduces them to the journaling on the layout.

It was so fun to create this layout about my daughter and her dad in celebration of Father’s Day. I LOVE how it came together. I know my family will cherish this story for many years!! However you’re choosing to celebrate the men in your life, I hope you take the time to document them! Thank you for stopping by the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog! Happy crafting, my friends!!
