Welcome to the SCT blog! Today we are so excited to welcome one of our community members to inspire you to add a little love to your February, Ali Skifton! Ali’s scrapbooking layouts are always fun and filled with color, and we think you will love what she is sharing with us today! Let’s take a look!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m Ali Skifton, @funadventureswithali, and I’m absolutely delighted to be the February guest designer for the SCT blog. Choosing from the wonderful selection of cut files available for free on the site was such a joy! With Valentine’s Day upon us, I was drawn to the heart designs, and there were so many great options. I adore how the hearts from the cut file perfectly complement the heart on my sweater!

For this project, I opted for a Valentine’s collection from Doodlebug, thanks to its vibrant colors and playful patterns. I thought it would be super fun to transform a few hearts into shakers. I was particularly excited to use their adorable new shaker balls! To create my shakers, I backed three of the smaller hearts with acetate. I then used foam strips from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to outline each heart. After securing the adhesive, I filled the hearts with Doodlebug shaker balls and charming Valentine clay hearts. Depending on how much movement you want, you can either add a little for more wiggle or fill them up for a fuller look! I sealed the shakers with a lovely flower-patterned paper.

For the other hearts, I backed them with various patterned papers. I flipped the cut file over and attached foam tape to the backs of the non-shaker hearts. To embellish, I added different Valentine’s sayings and adorable flowers on top. Using 3D foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L for my flowers and sayings added a fantastic dimension to my layout. It truly feels like the hearts are bursting with love!

I printed three photos of myself in a cute Valentine’s outfit and double-matted them. To the left, I added a fun sticker tab and tucked in a journaling tab. I sliced the circle in half and used it to attach to my journaling block, providing a clever way to share my story without making it too visible—perfect for hiding personal love notes!

A big thank you to SCT for having me as their guest designer this month, and to all of you readers for joining me on this love-filled adventure! I cherish sharing my passion for scrapbooking with others. Wishing everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day, overflowing with love!

Hello, fellow crafters! I’m Alexandra Skifton, but please feel free to call me Ali! I’ve been passionate about scrapbooking for over 25 years, and I truly find joy when I’m in my craft room. My favorite format is a classic 12×12 layout. When I’m not busy working full-time as a People Manager or creating beautiful scrapbook pages, I love spending quality time with my husband, especially during summer motorcycle rides and traveling to new places. I also enjoy reading, solving puzzles, and embarking on all sorts of fun adventures. Excited to share this creative journey with you all!
