I decided to play with watercolour paints on the background of my cardstock before using this month’s cut file.

I used Vicki Boutin watercolour markers to create a wintery-coloured background on a piece of Foundations mixed-media art paper, and once it was dry, I cut the different snowflake designs from this month’s freebie.

I used white cardstock for the background of my page and applied a thin layer of silver glaze to the background. Once everything was dry, I placed my photo and then popped the wintery snowflakes across my page, trimming some pieces off as they were hanging over the edge of the page.

I thought the project needed a little something else, so I typed up a sentiment over and over on my computer and printed onto cardstock. I used a circle punch to punch out some circles and added those near the snowflake groupings. This created a really fun and easy cluster on my page!

I really hope you will give this a try: I just love the result of the die cut snowflakes from a mixed media background! Just think of the possibilities!

See you next month with another free cut file!
