Today we are so excited to welcome guest Lorilei Murphy to the blog! The month of November is typically centered around gratitude, which can extend into all aspects of our life, especially memory keeping! You may be focused on a gratitude album this month, but if you don’t have the time to commit to a full project, take a cue from Lorilei and create a layout instead! Let’s take a look at her beautiful Storyline Chapters spread, which not only inspires us to record gratitude but also use what we have in our stash!

……………………..

Hello! My name is Lorilei Murphy and I am so pleased to be sharing my project with you today here on the awesome Scrapbook & Cards Today blog! I have been scrapbooking for the last 4 years and still love the adventure and creative outlet that scrapbooking and memory keeping provides! These days I seem to be keeping things simpler and I am really enjoying that process.

My project today is all about gratitude! November is a great month to take part in any gratitude project, big or small! Thankful 30 is very popular, but a story or page about gratitude is timeless! I grabbed a few supplies from my stash and my Heidi Swapp Chapters insert. I chose the Elle’s Studio From Sketch to Finish Vol. 5 Class “love this” stamp, and an older Elle’s Studio stamp from my stash called Thankful, which included the heart box. I found some pretty leaves from the Truly Grateful die cut pack by Pink Paislee and Paige Evans and started out with those supplies to create this page:

Supplies | Album: Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters Insert; Ephemera, puffy stickers: Truly Grateful collection by Pink Paislee; Stamps: Elle’s Studio; Ink: Memento Black; Other: craft knife, self-healing cutting surface

I started out my stamped page by combining two stamps together to make the “love this” box. I was able to fit 8 sections to a page while leaving some white space around the boxes. Originally, I was just going to write my gratitude journaling in the boxes, but then I got the idea to trim around 3 sides and add my journaling under the flap, using a craft knife and cutting mat. It was quick and easy to trim around the “flaps” of the box, while leaving the fourth side, on the left of each box, attached to the page.

I added my gratitude journaling to a second sheet of plain paper and adhered it underneath the stamped page. Next, I adhered the whole page into my insert and added a colourful, die cut leaf to each flap. I love the way that it turned out and I am sure I will try this again!

I decided to pair the stamped page with a full-page photo. I added some journaling and a Heidi Swapp word brush to the photo before printing it in black and white. I found a larger leaf in the same die cut pack and also added some scattered puffy dots to tie the colours from the stamped page onto the photo.

I am always happy to be reminded that you can work wonders with very little product. Digging into your stash and finding a stamp that you can use as a different way of finishing off a die cut pack is such a great feeling!
