October greetings! do you want to add some cute and eek-y spiders to your Halloween tags or pages? Here is a quick DIY to make your own googly-eyed spiders.
Punch out four 5 inch lengths of chevron borders and circle punch out 1.25 “ and 1.5” circles.
Adhere and criss-cross each of the spider legs onto the back of the smaller circle to create the spider body.
Next, pop the spider body onto the larger circle, add some eyes and bend the legs for some extra dimension. Have you seen the assorted shaped cards/envelop sets from Doodlebug Designs. This orange tabbed cards from the Halloween set is the perfect backdrop for my spider card.
I created a calendar page with Doodlebug’s Booville collection. I used one of the shaped cards from the card set to create an inter-active element on my project. The small square scalloped card was made into a peek-a-boo flip up and the black envelope was transformed into a sleeve (by sealing the envelope closed and then cutting it open on both the top and bottom edges) for a tag slider.
Hope you enjoyed some of these ideas, have some spooky and eek-y crafting fun soon! ~ Virginia Nebel
