Hi there SCT fans! It’s Nicole here to share with you a fun way to create your own background using different kinds of ink pads.

I am going to use 2 different kinds of ink pads on 2 different scrapbook layouts to show you how easy it is to create unique backgrounds for a card or scrapbook page!

Supplies | Distress Ink – Ranger; Patterned paper, chipboard, stickers and diecuts – Simple Stories

Once you give a technique like this a try, the possibilities are endless. These two unique projects can be made over and over, by switching up the colors and type of ink pads.

The Distress Ink allows you to drag the color onto textured cardstock to create a unique look! The ink has the ability to blend together, so you get variations of colors as they mix when you apply the ink to the paper.

The Color Wheel inks have a unique shape, so why not use that to create a pattern on your page!? Just think of the different ink pad shapes and the possibilities for each!
