This hour we have a fabulous “scraplift” challenge for you! What is a scraplift? This is where you find a layout you love and let it inspire you to create a layout with elements from the one you love. We are going to let Design Team member Nicole Nowosad share her “scraplift” with you. You’ll also see this theme carry on throughout our day. We love sharing with you how much our readers inspire us!

“Hey there SCT fans! I am so excited to be sharing a little part of interNational Scrapbook day with you! I was inspired by this project by Stephanie Buice in the spring issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine and used it to inspire my page design.

I loved the simple and effective grid design along with the bottom centred title and decided to use that to get started on my project!

I used the 6×6 paper pad from the Doodlebug Designs Hello collection and cut the mini journaling cards out. They were the perfect little additions to the background of my page. I added in some smaller pieces from the paper pad as well, trimmed to the same size.

I couldn’t help but mimic the central title on the page, and used a combination of Doodlebug die cut pieces and a word created with wire on my new We R Memory Keepers Happy Jig!

Kick start your scrapping mojo with a little inspiration from the spring issue of SCT and see where the inspiration takes YOU!! Your challenge, should you choose to accept, is to pick a layout from our Spring issue.  When you click the link, scroll down the page to see all the artwork from the issue! Be sure to PIN some of your favourites too!” ~ Nicole Nowosad

Also joining us this hour is Design Team member Melissa Phillips with some sweet tags she created just for you!

“Happy International Scrapbook Day!  I hope you’re able to set aside a little bit of time to create today.

I LOVE creating tags!  Anyone else?  They are the perfect bite-size way of sneaking in a little creativity and such a fun way to use up your favorite paper scraps while you’re at it too.

The Spring Market Collection from Carta Bella Paper Company has been my go-to source for springtime inspiration, and I have had a hard time parting with the scraps left behind once I’ve completed a project.

So, for my tags today, I’ve used those bits and pieces mixed in with the delightful die-cuts and ephemera found in the Spring Market Collection.

You can cut your own tags using a die or embellish pre-made tags. I’ve done a bit of both here. I’ve even used one of the pre-printed Journaling Cards combined with my tag die to create a custom tag.

Simply add your paper scraps, your cardstock and chipboard stickers, baker’s twine, etc. and in just a few minutes, you’ll have satisfied your creative sweet-tooth and knocked out some gorgeous tags while you’re at it! Enjoy your creative time today!” ~ Melissa Phillips

Thank you, Nicole & Melissa, for sharing such beautiful artwork!
