“Hello there, and Happy International Scrapbook Day!  I am sure you all are ready to celebrate the day with lots of inspiration and maybe a few projects of your own.  Today, I want to share a new layout I created that is all about celebrating memories through color and paper.

Nothing says new beginnings, Spring and love than flowers!  So, I pulled a few cut files from JustNick Studio to cut flowers from patterned papers from Heidi Swapp’s Color Fresh Collection.

I used a knitting needle (the round metal shape of it is ideal to create the ruffled edges of the flowers) to softly curl the edges of the flowers before gluing the pieces together.  A little dot of glue in the center of each shape keeps the flower together.   The centers of the flowers were cut from white cardstock and glued with a small foam dot to the center of each flower followed by an enamel dot to match the color of the flower.

Since I wanted the flowers and picture to stand out, I chose to use mint cardstock as the base of this page.  I cut a strip of the Wild Side paper and hand stitched a frame on the paper using mint embroidery floss.  I glued this to the page, followed by a strip of the Paint the Town paper.   The title was then placed at the bottom corner of these two strips using some of the stickers from the collection.

The picture was placed on the center of the layout.  I used the flowers to create two clusters around the picture. I used a few Stem cut files from JustNick studio to cut all the leaves from white cardstock. A few stickers, pieces of ephemera and enamel dots complete the clusters and create the diagonal design of the page.
