We can’t believe that we’re here at the final post of the day! What a wonderful day of creativity that we’ve shared, and we’re excited for what design team member Jess Forster has created to finish off the day. We couldn’t leave on International Scrapbook Day without showing you pocket pages, as they are a great way to easily and quickly get photos and stories in your albums. Jess is here to inspire you to get all of the details in those pockets, too! Let’s take a look!

Hi, friends! It’s Jess Forster, and I am excited to be with you on International Scrapbook Day! When it comes to scrapbooking, I enjoy creating layouts about my kids and the things they currently love. Below is a recent pocket page I made about my daughter, Rowan. Have a look!
On this double page 6×8 inch layout, I used a numbered list to write down the details of three things that my daughter loves right now. Inspired by the vibrant Simple Scrapbooks Everyday Moments pocket cards from Scrapbook.com, I cut down the 4×6 inch “Favourite Moments” title card into a 1.5 x 6 inch stripe and used it as a title on my 6×8 inch photo.
I took the 3×4 inch “moments” card from the Everyday Moments cards and cut it down to 1.5 x 3 inch and placed it on top of my 3×8 inch list of things that Rowan loves. Spoiler alert: currently she is into cartwheels, graphic novels and puppies. I love using numbered lists, as they are an easy, tangible way to tell stories through short, point-form sentences.
I placed the 3×8 inch journaling card that I created in the new 6×8 page protector from Scrapbook.com, using numbers from Ali Edwards scrapbooking basics line. I love that the story is front and centre on this page, grabbing your attention.
Lastly, to balance out the visual weight of the layout, I included wood veneer and acrylic hearts from Elle’s Studio. I placed them in a visual triangle around the pocket page to add interest. Hearts and cameras are always a classic motif when telling stories about favourite things.
I hope this simple pocket page inspires you to document someone you love in your life and write down three things they love using a numbered list. Not only do lists provide a story structure, they can be easily incorporated into any kind of layout. Happy International Scrapbook Day!! Thanks for reading!
