Hi there! Nathalie with you today with a new project inspired by Damaris Velazquez’s “Bunny Love” layout (page 71) of the Spring ’19 issue. I love how Damaris used the patterned papers to frame her pictures, all the embellishments, the dimensional title, and all the white space!
Her layout is gorgeous, so I decided to use it as inspiration for a page of my own:
I decided to keep the balance of white space to patterned paper as in Damaris’s page. However, I chose to stitch a piece of white cardstock to the paper, making sure that I left enough space at the top to house all my pictures and embellishments.
Just like in the original, I wanted a dimensional title for this page. For this, I pulled an alpha cut file from JustNick Studio and added an offset to each letter of the word, CANNONBALL. Each letter was then cut three times from white cardstock and once from glitter gold paper. The white outlines were glued together so that they resembled a stacked letter outline. I used the glitter letter outline as the top layer of each letter and then backed each letter with papers from the “Oh Summertime” collection from Pebbles. Just like in the original page, I used a large embellishment in place of the letter “O” in my title.
The multiple pictures in the page gave me the idea to document a sequence of photos; these were arranged in a soft curve at the top of the white cardstock on the layout. Here I used a combination of ephemera pieces, stickers, and enamel dots to create clusters thus framing the pictures. A few lines of journal complete my page.
Materials Used: Cardstock – white linen-Recollections, Michaels; Patterned paper, embellishments, stickers, puffy stickers – OH SUMMERTIME collection -Pebbles Inc., American Crafts; Embroidery Floss- DMC; Enamel Dots – Tiny Hearts – Doodlebug; Pen-Fineliner – Sharpie; Gold Glitter Paper- POW, American Crafts; Digital Files – JustNick Studio
