Hi all! It’s summer, and that means it’s family reunion season! For some reason, in addition to the big group photos, I tend to take a lot of photos of my kids at our reunions. I took a few pictures of just my kiddos in front of the climbing wall at a reunion a few summers ago. When I saw Dorymar’s super cute mini album cover on Page 70 in the Spring 2019 issue, I was excited to use it as my inspiration for these reunion photos.

I loved the gingham/woodgrain combination she used on her card, so I used papers from the “I Love Summer” collection by Echo Park Paper to mimic her scheme.
I also loved how she created pen-stitching on the gingham, so I mimicked it with actual stitching on my layout!
With three boys, I don’t get to use florals on my projects quite as much as I’d like, but I thought they worked well with this theme, so I used her floral inspiration as well!

It’s so much fun to flip through the pages of the Scrapbook & Cards Today Reader’s Gallery and find unique ways to draw inspiration from the projects. You don’t have to use a layout for layout inspiration, just as you don’t necessarily have to use a card as inspiration for a card. Think out of the box as you look at the featured projects and don’t be afraid to put your own twist on things!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today – and please be sure to share your projects that were inspired by some of the projects featured in the magazine!
