Hello SCT friends!  It's Christa here! As we prepare for yet another move next month and I go through my stash of scrapbooking supplies, I’m reminded that one of my favorite tips is to use up those pretty papers and embellishments you have laying there to make a memorable page for yourself. Your family and friends don’t care that these supplies are so 3+ years ago, but they want to look at the photos and read the journaling about that memory, event, trip, etc.

That’s exactly what I did for my page. I grabbed some of my favorite “old” Crate Paper, Jillibean and Elle’s Studio and got to work on a page I’ve  wanted to do for some time now. I’m not a huge technique type scrapper, but do love embellishing something that screams for me to embellish it! I used the lattice die cut card stock from Jillibean Soup and cut small bits of paper to adhere behind a few of the openings for a more colorful look.

I cut the squares 1” x 1” then used small scissors to cut around what was hanging over the edges. After that the rest of the page came together very easily with die cut journaling and wooden hearts. The smaller heart on this page was merely stamped with some black ink. I liked the way the natural fibers in the wood gave it a distressed look without actually distressing it!

I’ve always had a love affair for good flair and was happy I still have a bowl full of flair just waiting to be used!

This page is near and dear to my heart because this is our “family” we made while we were living in Japan. It was so bittersweet leaving that beautiful place that it’s taken me nearly a year to get it down on paper, but so happy I did!
